We do have this tendency to pick up players with injuries that never want to quite clear up - saying that, last year went without a hitch. I've got every faith he'll fully recover.
OT. I remember an old "Championship Manager" game I had. Of course I was managing the mighty United, but we were still in the lower divisions. A certain Alan Shearer managed to break his leg and I put in a silly little offer the week it happened. Much to my surprise, the offer was accepted and I took on a player who was expected to be out for around 6 months I think it was. I waited and I waited until that day he was fully fit - he single handedly lead me into back-to-back promotions. The injured come good!

I remember playing a version of Championship manager where Gianluigi Lentini was already injured when the game started and never got fit (at least as far as I could tell).
Always seemed a little insensitive to what I'm guessing must have been a 15/16 year old me.
As for JackLank - it sounds pretty minor but with extra caution being placed on it because it's linked to his rehabilitation. I'm sure it's not entirely unexpected as knocks and niggles tend to happen after lengthy injuries.

He’s only played 30 times in his senior career.
It’s risk / reward. He’s a good player with an injury record. But if he didn’t have that record he probably wouldn’t be leaving Ipswich so there you go.
Think people get a bit worried because of our previous record.

Yeah if he wasn't injured, he wouldn't be here. I'm not too bothered if he misses a month or two. He's here for two seasons so plenty of time to make his mark, so I'd rather he takes plenty of time to fully recover than risk coming in too early and his injury reoccurring. We're not light in midfield options so there's no rush. Yet.

Picking up a player carrying an injury was something Paul Tisdale talked about in an article someone linked here a while ago, saying that there were various ways to be clever and find value in the market and this was something he had done with a player they would not otherwise have been able to sign. A risk of course and we probably half expect it to be a Stephen Connors situation.

Ah, a shoulder injury for KML. That's why we've still seen nothing of him this pre-season.

Last year we took the decision to take Boateng on another loan, knowing he'd still have to spend six weeks on the sidelines. And he went on to be vital in promotion. Lankester could, in turn, prove vital to survival. A friend of mine works freelance for the physio team over at Ipswich, comes in twice a week to help them with mobility, post-game recovery techniques etc. and worked closely with Jack. He would know better than anyone regarding extent of his injury situation, and told me we'd got "an absolute steal".

Haven't we all got Ipswich supporting friends, I've at few, the quality of the lad is undeniable, sadly so is the fact he's v injury prone, hence he's departure from Ipswich. With O'Neil likely to spent a chunk of the season injured as well, its a worry.

Sounds mostly like a couple of impact injuries (stress fracture to the back - twice!).
I'd be a little more concerned if he was breaking down consistently with muscle injuries.
Anyway, apparently he used his injury time to set up his own a clothing company, Millennium Apparel, so I expect all the lads to be getting some new gear.

No news about Jack’s recovery for quite a while now?

Yeah, Bonner said yesterday he had a full weeks training with us and was back in contention to build up his match minutes.
