Think that even Corr seems to be ahead of Betsy now says a lot.

For me we must have the next step manager Ainsworth or Rowett is a must now not a young manager.

I reckon Betsy will be off too. I could see us going in for Matt Taylor. Did well at Exeter and seems a similar profile to Bonner.

I don't think that would work with this squad of players. Betsy & Corr are also both quite junior and have experience at that level. It needs a big personality who can lift, motivate and get a response out of these players. There are some decent credible options out there and some like Rowett/Ainsworth with links to the club. Iād not be at all surprised if Corr and Betsy move on too. We've have always appointed a new Head Coach and left the coaches in place previously so guess they will stay to start with unless we pay them off as well. Barry's a decent guy and I'm sure there is a role for him. Besty's appointment was always strange from the start and there is little evidence of any impact he's had. Always felt MB and BC needed an experienced guy with them like Waddock. The Cowleys would come as a pair as they have everywhere else. They wouldn't be my first choice but they have links with Strang I believe and JG wanted them when RM was sacked.

Several clubs in the most reason swathe of appointments went for left field choices with little tangible management experience in the Football League, which would be interesting if we did the same.
Bollocks to the old boys club, roll the dice and see where it takes us.

Neil Harris will no doubt apply, bombed out at Gills when in the play-offs and they've gone backwards since

Exeter might be in search of a manager soon, which might add a bit of competition for us in the market.

For me in order of preference
Ainsworth - shithouse football, players with a back bone and has a track record at a club our size and budget. No doubt he'd keep us up
Harris - Clearly a good manager, not sure his style of play but frankly I don't care if we win
Cowleys - They've failed at clubs every manager has failed at since, shouldn't be a disservice to them.
Rowett - he'd be top if it had a chance but he's still a championship manager. Worst case he's going to someone like Pompey or Derby first.

I wonder how much the training facilities change where we shop for a new manager? It's only really been discussed in terms of signing new players but you'd think we'd be in a position to poach a Pete Wilde for example, should we wish. Or even attract a Rowett perhaps š¤·š»āāļø
With that in mind, I'd imagine it's quite an interesting job for someone. As I say, the players need to do a lot to win me over, I'll happily go on record as saying I can't stand the b*stards right now, but, we WERE top after 8 games or so. The quality, application and desire has to be there for that to happen. I say I need a lot but a "lot" probably just means win 2-3 between now and January and play with a bit more fire in the bellies.

Think he's another safety first type. It's part of the reason they bombed him out at Gillingham I believe.
Probably one of those where it quickly turns if you go 5-7 games without a win

In terms of the out of work managers, I'd be really interested in Leam Richardson, Rowett or Taylor. All got a track record of improving teams.
If we could afford two lots of compensation I'd be interviewing Pete Wild at Barrow.

I wonder what John Eustace's next job'll be?
I can't see us attracting him, but I wouldn't mind approaching him to ask.
