Good darts form by Andrew. Suspect he was the kid at school who just was really good at every sport.

They've also just let another striker, Tom Nichols, go to Mansfield

Pleased enough with this, I know he hasn’t had a great last couple of seasons, but it’s encouraging to note that he and Taylor have played together before and clearly had a good partnership. Also have plenty of faith in Harris’ ability to judge the type of forward we need right now and his having signed Bonne twice in consecutive windows has to be taken as a positive sign that they feel they work well together.

Thinking back to our win at Ipswich 2 years ago, wasn’t it Bonne who scored the disallowed goal right at the end. Or at least he was the offside player.

I think this is a pretty good signing, and the fact that Bonne and Taylor have scored goals together in the past augurs well.
One of the things that marked Bonner's success was having a team of players with great attitudes so discipline was rarely a problem. Harris seems to have dispensed with that approach, and I wonder how this will impact things. It may be quite unsettling for some?

I thought we might sign Macauley last summer and there was a fair bit of noise about it being a potential deal at the time, but we ended up with JK Gordon instead. Hopefully that experience has been a lesson learned by the recruitment team - L1 really can’t be done on the cheap or on a wing and a prayer which is how our recruitment seems to have been excepting last January’s window when we really did have to buy to give ourselves any chance. You’d think we would learn, so perhaps NH’s biggest achievement to date is bringing in some experience over the past month.
Loved that video of Bonne meeting the lads and great that some of them clearly know him well. Half the battle won before he even steps onto the pitch.
I have to add, the new training facilities look excellent, you can really see why that investment was made, and perhaps it really has helped us to land the likes of Taylor and Bonne.

Very clear that both Taylor and Bonne are here due to NH being head coach. The influence of Harris really should make Strangs job easier going forward.
I have my doubts about Bonne, his career does seem to have stagnated somewhat, but f anyone can kick start that then it’ll be someone like Harris who used to play in his position.
Part of the reason we didn’t win last Sat was due to very limited options off the bench. Starting from Saturday we should have a very strong bench and that could be the difference in games against the likes of Shrewsbury, Cheltenham, Carlisle etc.
Got a very experienced squad now, absolutely no reason why we shouldn’t be winning against those around us and competing with those above.

I think we need to be a little careful with that assumption. Sure, Harris has years of managerial experience and is a former professional footballer to boot but he was completely honest about identifying targets and then missing them. Of course his links with former players has helped but, in a very complex world of transfer activity (especially in January), I think Bonner-Strang did much, much more than OK.

Bonne admitted that he had talks here in the summer, but chose to go to Gillingham instead, Taylor also admitted that Harris was a huge factor in him coming here. Not meaning to disrespect Bonner at all, but Taylor and Bonne would not be here if Bonner was still in charge.

Definitely not underestimating the Harris pull with these two but he's also been honest enough to admit that some of the targets haven't materialised. On another point I think I'm really growing to like his honesty about stuff like this. It's very different from Bonner's approach (which I also liked) but I like this too.
