I think there is way too much negativity against Monk at this early stage. His main brief would have been to obviously keep us in L1 & he has inherited an awful squad for this level. Unless there are some freak results, he will have achieved the main goal & we can then judge him next season when he has been given time to assemble a large number of new recruits as they must be a wholesale clear out in the Summer

Really? Only on here from some still sobbing over MB sacking, everyone I know is feeling positive about he's appointment, all that will change next season though, if we go on another terrible run of results.

Haven’t really seen much negativity towards him at all. Considering where we were after the 0-10 week, he’s done a great job. Our performances, results against Barnsley, Wigan and Charlton show he got more things right than wrong, our performance, result last night would indicate he got more things wrong than right. No harm in people expressing their opinion on that.

8 points since his arrival is decent with this squad.

I meant the negativity on this board e.g. when people seem to jump onto his "performance" in the Pressers, whereas I couldn't give a monkey's about his communication to the media as long as we stay up & he culls this squad effectively

I think Harris flouncing off to Millwall will ultimately be a blessing in disguise for us. He would have kept us up but would then have built a squad based on hoofball, signed some more off his old mates and everyone would be moaning about it come Christmas. I am looking forward to seeing what Monk can do with his squad rebuild and he has also shown he can be flexible in formations and not as rigid as Bonner became.

Absolutely this, Harris and Monk were both great appointments imo, but I'm hopeful we will enjoy the football more under Monk.

Some people had it in their heads for some reason that Rowett or Duff would come here. Monk's done alright so far with some tough circumstances and players learning a third way of playing but unless he shits the bed in this final fortnight he's achieved what he needed to. Would be harsh to properly judge him until next season.

Yeah, fine with Monk so far, it's been a journey though. I'm more optimistic about next season under Monk than I was Harris even when we were shipping goals. I didn't always think he'd get to next season though admittedly.
His interviews are fine. I don't always agree with him but I think he's much more honest about what he thinks than Harris was. He seems more sincere too. It's ok to disagree or question what he or anyone says, I think. It doesn't neccersarily mean (m)anyone is being negative.
Very very excited to see what a Monk side looks like. I know some of the decisions so far have been forced on him but the formation change shows flexibility and tactical understanding, bringing in Jobe and Rossi shows he's not afraid of making big calls. Mannion too, although that was forced on him. Bringing in Hoddle for his debut last night shows a manager true to his word about using youth.
Really looking forward to him getting his own players in. Don't let me down, future U's.

While thinking about how Monk is going to create and develop a team which he can start to call his own, I came across this article and wondered if there were some elements here which we might begin to see next season. Obviously the context of Swansea is different from ours and this is from nearly 10 years ago. Still I thought it made for an interesting read: outsideoftheboot.com/2015/07/09/tactical-philosophy-garry-monk/

Garry rode the really tough period out and came back strong to get the desired number of points for survival. Garry will have the blessing of being in place to start planning straight away.
Millwall poached, put us under pressure and they got their desired outcome; survival. However, we are starting next season with Monk and them Harris so every cloud...

Dodgy twitter rumours suggesting Monk is one of 6 Managers being considered for the Korean national job. Alongside Jesse Marsch and one Herve Renard apparently!
