Who signed the Rolls cheque without checking it out. Rolls and his new buddy should be given life bans from this club so they can't have any chance of them coming here ever again. I'm sure I read somewhere that Rolls is indeed barred from the club.

Which of these staff would you axe?

Nigelp - a good summary of the accounts from as you say a non finance professional. As an accountant I am reminded of a comment from an old boss of mine - accounts are like a lady's bikini - what they reveal are interesting, what they may hide more so. The accounts disappoint as me as they seem somewhat half hearted when compared to prior years - the chairman's statement could be more informative about the future. References were also made to GR in last seasons accounts and may be one of the reasons for the provision for bad debts in note 3 in both last year and this years accounts, the total of which is over £100k. All in all there are more questions which need to be raised at the AGM about the finances. One other small point of concern - last year they came to me by e mail thus saving postage and printing, this year by post which from a green perspective is a backward step.

All in all there are more questions which need to be raised at the AGM about the finances. People tried doing that last year but Paul Barry fobbed them off with arrogance.

I accidentally pressed the wrong button whilst typing and was intrigued by this thread, so decided to have a read.
It is amazing how far we have come in a few short years and a reality check that yesterday's dull performance used to be the norm whilst the club looked like folding.
Dave, Jez and Dickie really steadied the ship.

And the "arrogant" Paul Barry financed that steadying process to save the club he loves. A true fan, that took the principle, that if he had the money he would improve his United, and acted on it. Easy to talk about spending a fortune, not so easy to make it so, in a real world with employees, dependants and economic crisis. Kudos.
