Evans confirmed at Rotherham I'm guessing that Evans has a clause in the contract that he will only sign if Rayner is also appointed as assistant.

I know Evans can be a real knob at times (some of it pantomime villainesque) but for such a good manager his lack of seeing something through over a longer time span surprises me. What’s he averaging ….about 2 years? Admittedly some of the leaving decisions are not made by him but I thought he might have wanted a ‘project’. Always thought he and Stevenage were made for each other. Although MacAnthony believes he’s a perfect fit for Salford. Now that’s an image ….

Some Stevenage fans suggesting he may have fallen out with one or two players which has lead to their drop off. This seems to happen at most of his clubs. He’s like a lower league Mourinho. Gets you quick success but then he and the football become irksome. Some players will still follow him around an no doubt leave Chavs for Rotherham.

Satanage threw money at new players over January without consideration of PATTERN, logic or continuity. Evans didn't take training, but he cut a remote, perpetually furious & constantly EATING figure, who terrified the entire club, including Revell. Everyone obeyed him because his RECORD speaks for itself. But such people seldom stay in post for more than 2 years as they're found out. Which is why Evans lives in a motor home converted from a shipping container & articulated lorry.
This afternoon's insider news is that BONNER has APPLIED for the job.

Monk played 20 games for them 20 years ago.
Could he be tempted ‘home’? 😂

They are imploding, a wretched end of season run, but whether now is the right time to make the change, who knows? Since the 5th March, they have played 11 matches and only beaten Carlisle and Burton, drawing with Cheltenham, Reading and Bolton. 9 points from 11 games is relegation form, not promotion form. I guess they are hoping to limp over the line and secure a 4th or 5th place spot on Saturday, then have some fresh ideas to spark them in the play offs. I hope they don't draw Posh though, could be a walkover into the final, and another Wembley trip.

I have seen on social media that some fans think they have off field problems and may see points deductions or transfer restrictions. Could possibly be like Wigan/Reading next year if don't go up.

Nothing confirmed either way but I was slightly surprised that Darrell Clarke refused to say whether he was going to stay or depart following Cheltenham’s relegation. A good manager and I thought he was part of a ‘project’ there.

Apparently Cheltenham haven't yet agreed what sort of budget Clarke will have in league 2 next year, he might be waiting to see if his expectations are met.

Did see a few rumours on social media that he was Stevenage bound.

Still on the Clarke issue, I picked this up from their forum when he spoke to a fans' forum earlier this season. I think it's interesting in what a decent manager values:
It's worth revisiting what Darrell said at our Fans' Forum on his future:
DC "When I came to the club, I came for the challenge. All I've been fixated on is keeping the club in L1 when nobody thought it was possible. I joined for that reason and I'm still massively focused on that while the dream is alive. Enjoying my time here, really good people to work for, the supporters are fantastic.
I had a chat with the Chairman today....get me a plan. And by a plan I don't mean 'Get me an extra half a million on my playing budget'. I mean how we can improve things, how we move forward. A lot of those answers come from the budget and I get that. But I like to move forward. One of my biggest frustrations has been the training ground. We've been unfortunate with the rain, and I get that. But I'd much rather have better facilities, better everything in those depts when I can make my players better rather than go an get me half a million pounds on extra players. I think that's what this club is about. It's never been a club to spend money on players, pay ridiculous wages and get ourselves in financial trouble"
