"The guy did nothing whenever I saw him play, not sure how that can really be down to Derry, granted us playing crap doesn't help but it doesn't stop and individual shining, which he did not!"
Derry-ball has stopped most individuals shining this season. Certainly on a consistent basis at least I would say that nobody other than legge and Willy have hit their potential.
There are too many under performing players for me to write off a promotion winning winger as rubbish. For me it's largely down to tactical deficiencies in Derry-ball this season.

God I had forgotten all about him, think Ryan Gosling might have been a better option

Bit weird him going back when he's not allowed to play for them till January (I think).
Derry made a comment a while back about him having a very different personality to most footballers. I'd take that as a compliment but was maybe a hint he was having some problems fitting in.
Not sure he's particularly highly rated there either. Just because he played for a team who finished with a handful more points than us last season doesn't mean much. Lots of reasons to bash Derry but don't see this as one.

Really? Personally, I'd see this as an absolute waste of valuable wages, that could've been spent on a player that won't embarrass himself every time he puts on a (still rubbish designed) United Shirt.
An absolute waste of money, in a period where we can ill afford to, on and off the pitch.

Andrew The fact he is a "promotion winning winger" means absolutely nothing. Roberts was awful last season yet he was a promotion winning centre back yet I didn't see too many people who hadn't written him off. Just because it was a promotion winning side doesn't mean every one of those players were top notch, look at our promotion winning side and there were a couple of players people were not overly happy with. The guy was just ineffective, either starting or from the bench even in a poor side he should have added more

Yeah right. I'll name some terrible players. Maxwell, Appiah, Naylor, Gayle, Page, Furlong, Ledson, Clarke I did say with the odd exception although I don't think Gayle or Naylor should be in that list. I would however put Ball and Kaikai in there. How about Wesley Atkinson, Matty Blair, Matt Harrold, Harry Lennon, Johnny Margetts, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Jayden Stockley, Karlan Ahearne-Grant, Jacob Blyth, Terry Kennedy, Shane O'Neill, Alie Sesay, George Taft along with Dallison, Long and Gosling from this season. Is one good player in every three standard for loanees ? Who knows ? Dom Ball didn't exactly get much game time for us, but you could tell there was something about him. I still don't particularly rate Clarke (yet), and Naylor can go in the bin pile for his sending off. Don't forget that Middlesbrough youth winger, has he retired yet?

Yeah, he probably should. I'm just causing trouble because I'm fed up with good/decent players going backwards with dire tactics. If Gosling doesn't fit in to that catagory then there are a number of others who do.
I think being in a promotion winning means *something* though, particularly as it was only last year. Those who played a bit part in our promotion from the vauxhall conference for example, as Gosling did at Rovers, were generally good enough to stay at that level in the following season, and I think it's reasonable to question why we couldn't get anything out of Gosling where Rovers could.
Maybe he's just rubbish and it was another failure of our scouting set up.

Good grief Jordan Jones wasn't it ? Not great would be an understatement. Once he got a run in the side at right back towards the end of the season I thought Ball started to look pretty decent.

I had to look it up. Apparently he's at Kilmarnock. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordan_Jones_(footballer,_born_1994) But what I find most amusing is: "Jones has since then grown to be a fans favourite with his pace and skill on the pitch."

Hardly played. He may be a talented player, but the loan signing was pointless and a waste of money in my view.

Gosling has been returned to Brizzle because we have sufficient cover now the injured players are fit again. Sounds like a bit of a cover up to me, more like he is one of the players that SD doesn't rate. Perhaps Dallison is next?

Noticed Maris was on the bench today. Obviously now fit enough to play at least part of a game if required.

Was rusty for the first hour or so by all accounts but that is to be expected after so long out. Apparently had a strong finish which obviously means he's in good shape fitness wise.

Dunk's injury wasn't as bad as first feared, the other two have now returned to full fitness. Not everything is a wild conspiracy theorist's dream you know!
