Our first home game for nearly a month, and our first (presumably last) Friday night game of the season.
Thoughts on the game? Score prediction, the side you would pick etc.
Lincoln are in patchy form at the moment, having won one of their last five games (LDDWD) but are just outside the play offs (sounds familiar). We need to match their physical presence (Green and Rhead up front, Bostwick in midfield) and make sure we are not overrun and outbattled.
With that in mind I've looked to offer some sort of shape and structure which is not alien to the players. I'd be tempted to give Mitov a go; Forde seems to be out of form at present and maybe it is time to make a change. No sign of Corr, while Legge, Mingoia, Amoo have suffered long term injuries according to the CEN prior to Saturday. Apparently Ibehre suffered a concussion which ruled him out of Yeovil.
My side: Mitov, Halliday, Taft, Darling, Taylor, Deegan, O'Neil, Waters, Brown, Dunk, Uche. I've ended up with a 4-2-3-1 due to the absence of a right sided winger/midfielder.
Unfortunately I think this will be a 2-1 defeat.

I'm looking forward to it, about time we had another Friday night fixture. Takes me back to the days of Saint and Greavsie on a Saturday lunchtime and being able to watch ours (and Tranmere's) goals from the previous night.
As for this match, about time Derry gets a good result. 2-2.

I'm looking forward to it.
It feels like breaking point has been reached for a lot of people and I hope to see it spill out somehow. Not sure what form it will take particularly...it could be the sort of fervent passion that could make a difference in our relegation battle just as easily as it could be the hostile anti-Derry protest that could see him sacked and really make a difference in our relegation battle. Anything but apathy and quiet surrender.
...and yes, I am calling it a "relegation battle". Time stop reacting to events before it's too late to do anything about it. Let's accept what we are and play as though our lives depend on it.
Any team we put out from the available fit first team squad is good enough to get a result. I don't care who plays.

Should be noisy- unfortunately only from the South Stand and South Habbin. I would expect them to bring 1500 plus.

I think this is another typical Derry moment of win to survive and historically he always buys himself more time. That's why I want him gone NOW. I want U's desperately to win and for the Abbey to rock again. But not with Derry in charge!

Personally would like to see Deegan (Max) dropped and try O’Neil with Phillips. Jevani has to play as no.10 off Uche with Maris left for me and Waters right. Can’t see the Deluded one dropping Deegan though. As for the score I would love us to win of course I would, but also if we were to lose then be it by a hatful so that the Abbey finally turn on Derry & Jeremy big style Derry Out

I saw Lincoln vs Stevenage Boxing Day. They are route one, and will tear us a new one with our fragile defence and midfield
Make no bones about it, they ain’t very good, just very strong and direct but I fear we’ll crumble

I assume the Lincoln Transit Elite will be hanging about on Coldhams Common for a pre match duff up?

I assume the Lincoln Transit Elite will be hanging about on Coldhams Common for a pre match duff up? Definitely. Let’s hope the Romsey Fleet are moored. Anybody considered the weather by the way? And why is it on the Friday?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t our last home league game on a Friday night result in us sacking our manager?

Can't say I'm all that excited as it's not much fun being a united supporter at the moment. If we go behind the atmosphere will be toxic.

They'll beat us, that's all. A 1 or 2 nil defeat.
Oh, and give Mitov a chance please Mr Derry. Forde is looking like he cba anymore and has all but given up.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t our last home league game on a Friday night result in us sacking our manager? Money v Bristol Rovers? Also I'm fairly sure Rob Newman was sacked after a Friday night defeat at home to Exeter.
