Dunk was always the one who always came to applaud the fans, often on his own, after another inept team performance. Takes some cojones, that. How he made us wince every time he got marmalised by some neanderthal right-back. How many of us remember that it was Dunkybabes who kickstarted the playoff final for us? We had been anonymous and virtually shotless in the first half, overawed by Gateshead’s samba football, but almost the first action of the second half was Harrison’s mighty shot that forced a save and woke up the crowd.
And finally, compare the wonderful and lengthy tribute from Mr Barry with the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it club “farewell” to the Rat. That’s the measure of these men.

My mates are going to see me cry at half time tonight.
He was a link between our present and our past. An end of an era.
Genuinely gutted.

This does now explain why the sprinklers have been turned off recently. In anticipation of the impending downpour tonight.

A little ode to a hero: They say the world moves too fast That nothing today seems to last. 2011 seems like a lifetime ago Couldn't have predicted the direction we’d go. Four prime ministers later, and we've left the EU Brexit and Trump, global tensions renew. Climate change and COVID made us fear for what’s next Conspiracies, culture wars and fake news perplex Then the old Queen passed away Her son sworn in on coronation day But through all those years, one constant remained true And that's Harrison Dunk - he was always a U. By the old Kings Lynn coastline, lookin' lazy at the sea, There's a Cambridge girl a-settin', and I know she thinks o' me; For the wind is in the ash-trees, and the leper chapel bells they say: "Come you back, you Cambridge legend; Come you back to Cut Throat Lane”

When Harrison scored against Posh it sort of felt like we all scored.
Thank you Harrison for making the club I love a better club. We have been blessed and honoured that you chose Cambridge to be the club that you would give 13 years of dedication, hardwork and integrity to.
I am really sad today but I am excited about feeling pride when talking about Harrison in conversations about our best players.
Cheers Harrison and go well with your next steps.

“Whenever a new manager came in, I’d work to win him over. That’s got me everything, really, and I wouldn’t change a minute of it.”
Shame a few of our other fit players couldn't do that this year quick enough.
He's a great loss but he'll be fondly remembered forever.
