Just discussing this elsewhere... I wouldn't mind seeing him start on Saturday even though he's been very inconsistent at best since coming back from injury. I expect him not to start but Janneh at his best would be one of the first names down on the teamsheet for me.. The problem is that Janneh at his best has been very fleeting since he's been a U. The goal was excellent as was the assist for Lankester. I think he's a player that needs a lot of confidence and it looks from the highlights that he grew into the game and had a lot of confidence flowing through him by the end of the match - could be the perfect time to start him? Word of caution though, consider the opposition! Posh (or any League 1 team) won't give him anywhere near the amount of time on the ball to pick a pass or take a shot.

Aside from those two moments he was pretty poor, even amongst a team of irregular starters and youth players. He got in a similar position to where he scored and hit a tame shot at the keeper. I'd expect someone to score 8/9 times out of 10 with a clear run at goal at a nice angle like that. He clearly has some quality but his consistency is still a worry because when he's bad he's comically bad.

I think that's stretching it somewhat... certainly it was a fairly powder puff shot but even at premier League level 8/9 times out of 10 is surely unlikely for all but a tiny handful of players? One theory of football success is that despite the difference in club culture, luck, and actual coaching ability; money (IE wages paid) is the biggest indicator of success. My point being that we just have to hope that our conference/div2 wages paid are just lower than what our players are really worth.

Feel he's been quite unlucky with us and disappointed he couldn't maintain the bright start he's had to both seasons with us, but he's still young and I can see him being a useful player for someone in the NL

I had quite high hopes for him as someone we've been after for 3-4 years.
Definite talent there but perhaps never going to be consistent at this level...and unlike, say, a Brophy, not going to offer enough when he's not doing anything statistical.

That's a very nice, if rather sad, post from Janneh. He comes across as very naive, and I hope he can find a future in football.

It looked like this was going to be his breakthrough season until Steve Evan's thugs nobbled him. sadly he never looked to be the same player after.

Strangely it was a muscle pull in the early part of the Stevenage game and they had only hacked him down twice before he had to be taken off. Rayner was genuinely sim pathetic and wished him well.

Insider information HOT:
Utter Evans and Rayner's SHOCK departure from Satanage was celebrated across the ENTIRE club in the form of CAKE. Some members of the first team had SEVEN pieces.
From this INCIDENT one can extrapolate that these two porkers were less than universally appreciated at the LAMEX Stadium.

My colleague leads the Thursday morning BLACK MASS which is held for all club staff in the new stand behind the goal. Three weeks ago he was collecting the GOAT & two white chickens from the home dressing room prior to their RITUAL slaughter & the smearing of blood across the players' foreheads & called into Utter Evans' office. He reports was he absolutely PLASTERED in pastry crumbs. This is the sacred truth.

Good message.
Started the season on fire and then injuries halted and then diminished the momentum.
Bags of potential but needs game time to find out who he is as a player. Possibly either a starting player in the NL or an impact 'of the bench' player in division 2. When he gets a flow at a club their fans will love him.
Hope it works out for him.

Hope it works out for him. His cameo of a few minutes against MK Dons was one of the most exciting introductions of a new signing ever, he looked amazing.
Sadly, whether due to injury or confidence, he just couldn't recreate that form consistently. Started this season well, in the first couple of games, then got injured and couldn't find his form again. I think his last three games were Wycombe and P*sh away, then Leyton Orient at home, and he was awful in all three.
I think he needs to go to a club where he can be a regular starter, stay fit, and hopefully rediscover that form consistently. Because there's definitely talent there.
