That was really annoying, we looked so comfortable and dangerous in parts and felt like Smith should have taken one of those chances. I do think earlier subs would have helped us keep the ball better. Knibbs Brophy and Tracey were dead on their feet it was obvious.
That goal was annoying in many ways. Williams could have wellied it further up the pitch, we let them throw it to their player too easily, we backed off the little turd who to be fair scored with a great finish.
What’s encouraging is that we’ve played 2 play off sides and looked on a par if not better than both.

I've calmed down a bit now/had a few drinks. Gutted we didn't hang on for a deserved point at least. Thought until we started panicking in the second half we looked really good on the ball with some nice passing movements and some excellent cutting through balls. Tracey was tearing them apart at times with his pace. Smith had an off day, I think he was trying too hard to get himself a shusher. Overall it was a decent display against another team expected to be competing for the playoffs, so now the dust has settled, bring on Exeter next week.

Just got back (live in Northants) and that was the ultimate sucker punch today. We were the better side for most of the game and should have been 2 up at half time. How did Knibbs miss from a yard out? Smith should have scored also with the chances he had. Subs were too late as Knibbs & Brophy were done 15 mins before he bought them off. Loud Support all game and we deserved something from it

So we are upset after only getting three point after MK and Oxford. 93 min goal is gutting...
All I can say is loving the progress we are making...
The subs thing, it's one of those where if we hold on for the draw or pull out the win then it's a great decision. If we concede then the manager gets the trolling.
In Mark's defence, ( and before someone claims to have won the champions league with Cambridge on champ manager and were then scouted to england) I think he has got a good idea as to what on balance will be our better shout.
Let's go and smash Exeter and get some more points.

How did Knibbs miss from a yard out? When you see the replay, it's a lot more understandable. He's being fouled.

Unlucky today. Need to take our chances when we had them particularly first half. I agree subs needed to be 10 minutes earlier. Tracey had given the balllaway a couple of t8mes and was blowing for a good ten minutes before he was replaced. We failed to make enough of their right back who was very suspect going backwards. But how far have we come that we are gutted at losing at Oxford?
Brilliant noise from the Amber Army.

Just got home. Frustrating but we didn’t actually test their keeper properly - we waited too long before pulling the trigger on countless occasions today and it was annoying as overall we were the better side by a fair margin. I’m not criticising Bonz as he knows far more about running a football team than I do, but the subs seemed 15 mins too late. It was a hot afternoon and we were playing at a high tempo for a lot of that, a lot of the lads were dead on their feet. With five subs allowed now over three sets of changes it is more of a squad game than its ever been. Now that we have much more quality within the squad we need to use it.
Anyhow, lots of progress over last season and a fun day out despite the result.

"what we're doing and what we're working towards is working"
Yep, he's right. Plenty to like in that performance, and judging by what Bonner is saying plenty to like about the players reaction it.
I thought May was excellent. I can't recall him misplacing a pass actually. Tracey was superb too but maybe not as involved as I'd like - I think he probably had the fewest touches. Knibbs wasn't involved as much as I'd like either, he was good when he was but his game was a lot of clever hard running for others to shine.
Dunkybabes was excellent again. It's as though he ups his game every time there's a challenger for his place in the side. Dunk my Mom!

A bit gutting to loose to a injury time goal but neither manager could have complained if it ended 0 0. It was a good goal tbf and we raved about knibbs goal last week with similar excellent footwork. Really it was the only bit of quality in the penalty boxes from both teams. We were excellent 1st half and just so solid at the back and midfield. Tracey was causing loads of problems down the wing in front of us and put in a few excellent crosses, inc the knibbs miss which looked pretty bad from the stands. Maybe he was pulled back but there wasn’t any appeals from us. Don’t think Smith in the middle really worked although he had 1 shot in the 2nd half that just went wide but after that we didn’t look like scoring but we weren’t exactly hanging on either at the end. Didn’t think the triple substitution really affected anything at either end. Disappointed that we didn’t take an early shot at a couple of opportunities when their was an opening in the 2nd half and again our set pieces in attacking positions didn’t really cause Oxford any problems. Despite what others have said I thought the ref was ok. If he gave the first penalty appeal by Oxford, he probably would have given the knibbs appeal in the 2nd half. We have become a streetwise team and we are just as good as anyone at niggly tactical fouls and there was incident where Jones went down in the 2nd half as if he’d been shot in the face. He was up and fine in a few seconds when he realised the ref wasn’t having any of it. Not every fall by an Oxford player is a dive as some of our fans are keen to point out all the time and Dunk’s challenge was a fair booking. Dunk was excellent though and did a lovely back heel flick pass 1 - 2 with Brophy. Excellent support as always and I am still really positive we will be a mid table team. Imagine being a Burton fan?

Took my Mrs who never goes football. Even she said Cambridge were robbed. She had a good point; why did we sing ‘Yellow & Black Army’? Surely ‘Come on you blues’ would have been more appropriate? I don’t know how they played in those conditions, it was bad enough just sitting in the sun! I think they switched off for goal! I thing exhaustion may have been a factor!
