Looks to be an opportunity signing rather than a planned replacement in my opinion. Judging his previous record and the highlights package above he looks a cracking player at this level that will add too the squad. Looking forward to seeing him play in the coming weeks! Hopefully we can get him fit and firing soon!

This has totally messed up the top 5 goalscorer prediction competition. Does Bonner have no respect for the fans at all?!! Fejiri to piss this tinpot league with a Mullenful of goals!

It's only a strang signing if it goes wrong.
Sounds like a Bonner signing to me. A player with a bit to prove and/or looking to come back from serious injury. We've got a pretty good record with players needing a little bit of love.
Surprised by the signing though. If we went for anyone I was expecting a midfielder.

Looks like his game is getting in behind the defence - maybe Bonner's planning to have a plan B with two up top when we're chasing a game? Janneh could also be a partner for Ironside in a similar way?
If not we're very well stocked for players to fit into the '3' behind big Joe - Tracey, Brophy, May, Worman, Lankester, Janneh, Okenabirhie, Smith. Not to mention Yearn and Akanbi waiting in the wings..
I'd have preferred a CM tbh as that's the area of the pitch we seem light in quality but in Bonner we trust.

We went two up top in a couple of friendlies & I think it's very likely we'll see it in a few more games this season. We could easily switch to a 4-1-3-2 without even needing to make a sub with most of the permutations of our line-up.

I can see 2 reasons why signing Feriji could work out very well for us. An Achilles injury is something that can be fully recovered from in 6 - 12 months so that’s about right. Secondly from his goals vid he gets himself where a number 9 should and will help us show the talking heads who have us as relegation favourites again that they know nothing!

He talks in his interview he can play down the middle or from the right or left. Supersub for Brophy rather than an unfit Lankester or Knibbs shoved out wide. He isn't fit yet but this signing excites me.

Great to see Fejiri join us and looking forward to seeing him play. I felt we needed another up front who can play more as an out and out striker and Fej seems to fit that bill. Provided our other forwards all stay we have options to mix it up a bit now which is excellent, and also hopefully means we won’t have to rush into any Tolaj type moves if Joe gets broken again.
I also wonder if this suggests more of a midfield role moving forward for Harvey?

In terms of a starting role, Knibbs is competing with Lankester (& to a lesser degree, May & Worman) for the spot behind the striker in our usual formation.

Think it’s a sensible signing. We were a bit light up top last season and heavily relied upon Ironside and Smith. If we can get him fit he could become a useful “relief player” as the season goes on.

With the new 5 subs rule this season having extra attacking options on the bench makes sense. Lots of different permutations available to try to change games late on.

[joke about 5 subs meaning Bonner may upgrade to using 2]

Surprised but not disappointed with this signing. We've definitely loaded up in positions we were thin in last season. Time will tell if we've improved, but we've definitely strengthened in terms of squad depth, and the ability to switch things up to keep players from breaking down.
