They were deposed not murdered and the former king still lives in Kathmandu.
So no, not really.

So I am in Kathmandu currently and today had a wander around Narayanhiti Palace. This was the residence of the former royal family of Nepal. In 2001, one of the princes wiped out his entire family including the king and queen seemingly as a result of a love quarrel. In 2008, the royal family was deposed by Maoist guerrillas, who pretty much immediately turned the palace into a museum. It's a truly evocative place and feels like the royal family left just yesterday, with a box of Trivial Pursuit in a cupboard and Mickey Mouse stickers on the bathroom door. Anyhow, there's a precedent if any of you anti-monarchists fancy giving it a go. Kentish Are you equating anti-monarchists with murderers? Best ask Louis XVI
