Yeah I thought with Seddon coming in we might go 3 at the back for Bristol; have a stronger feeling we will for Morecambe. Either way I think it's probably coming, even if not next week.

For me it has to be :
Mannion
Willimas Rennett Okedina
Lennett Digby Worman Brophy
Lankaster
Smith Knibbs
In reality I see 4 at the back, but in any case, just NOT Taylor. If needs be play Jubs and Williams at the back!

I like it.
Not sure I fancy Jubril as a left sided centre back but long term that'd be Jones I guess.
The boy Willimas has potential.

Favourite CUFC player: Spriggs. Dublin. Pitt. Lennett.
Favourite CUFC match: vs Leicester C (H) 1982. Without that...?

I think I can get on board with Lennett and Rennett I think I was first with that. If so, it'll be my proudest moment ever if it catches on!

I think smith and knibbs pressing know they have Jack in the hole to pick up any scrapes would work well.

Why is everyone assuming that Rennet will start? He hasn't played any league football for ages (5 a sides with Grimsby's kids don't count) and as much as I agree re. poor Gregy T's inability to cope with L1 footy I'm not that sure Bonner's going to start him just yet. One scenario I can easily imagine is that Rennet does indeed start the game and then struggles for 45 mins due to rustiness perhaps. What do we do then, write him off as another poor signing like we've done to quite a few players many times over the last few years?
PS - Rennet with one 't' is not a spelling mistake. I'm going to call him that because I'm hoping he will 'coagulate' the U's back line.

Lack of alternatives I guess. As it stands the full back positions are two from Rennett, Gilliam's and...Jrophy.

People asking about reasons to be cheerful… these namings are top of the list 🙂 It’s my favourite thing since Dunk my MoM!

If he plays the ball infield, we could have Ren & Simpy.

I am not sure I can take another week of watching Greg doing an impersonation of a man drowning on a football pitch, if Rennet doesn't start I think my stomach will curdle. Greg is, unfortunately, whey off the pace.

Heh, very good.
I like Greg a lot. He was mostly not awful against Brovers at everything except the bits that he was never that great at in the first place and those things are being exposed by the step up a division, a fluffy midfield, and perhaps by his injury.
Not all his fault then, and defensive problems were defensive problems before he was back in the side so clearly it's a deeper issue than Greg playing or not.
I do hope Rennett is available though, yeah.

I know there are plenty of central defenders who are uncomfortable with having to face their own goal, but this is fairly extreme. His positioning and reading of the game isn't good enough to bail him out now, regardless of the debate around his possession of these attributes in the past.
