I'm (bizarrely, so soon after a home defeat) looking forward to this one. Hopefully Bennett the elder will be in place and Bennett the younger will start with the confidence he showed today. Morecambe have had an uptick in form but there's no reason not to believe we can win this with at least one new centre back.

Heady mixture of fear and excitement for this one. I think we’ve all grown (too) accustomed to crushing disappointment so we’re prepared for that, but the prospect of a much-needed win is exciting.
It’s mad that we could lose and still not be in the bottom four, not that I want to test that theory. There would be a nice symmetry to turning the corner with a win over Morecambe, having fallen away badly since we last beat them.
I went through the remaining games to tot up how many points we might gain from the 63 available and came up with 22, which would get us to 46. It may be enough, but again it’s not a theory I’d like to test. If we can find a way to claw ourselves to 50… please.

The next 7 days are crucial for MB and the season. Got to see some incomings in the midfield area that can allow us to be more creative and then achieve a positive result against Morecambe. This should have been the focus for weeks now so Strang needs to pull his finger out.

Taylor & Okedina cannot start. I’d rather have current state Pele & Pope Benedict as our centre half pairing. So true!

Hmmm I can see your point and the last week has meant we had to move to bolster the defence but even still all season the glaring fundamental weakness in this team was the midfield. From the summer, even before the injuries, people were saying we lack quality or numbers. And since the season started the midfield has failed to protect the defence or create chances for the forwards. Digby's been asked to do too much, Simper and Worman have tried their best to help but to limited success really. If you fix the midfield you fix the heart of the team, that has to be the priority this window.

Still a lot of games left but given the teams positions the first proper ‘6’ pointer of the season?
Must win game for us.

I don't think the Morecambe will be that rattled by the title of this thread.

Who do you think should be playing CB on Saturday then considering Ryan Bennett is likely not to be fit and there may not be another CB in this week..

We have known for months that May & O'Neil are out long term so you would assume that we have been identifying players for the midfield and I hoped that one may mave been over the line by now. The defence has only been more of a priortity since Boxing Day when we lost 2 players. Left Back is still going to be issue because as harsh as it sounds, if Seddon is going to be out for weeks then no real sense in keeping him. The whole team lacks any midfield creativity and needs fixing.

I do wonder what will happen with Seddon. Aside from the serious injury, he was caught out positionally a few times yesterday. If he's going to be out for 2 months it's probably worth asking Oxford nicely if we can return him.
If we do decide to do that, I'd have thought we will just cross our fingers until Haunstrup is back?

They usually return to the parent club for treatment and rehab but the loan agreement still stands unless mutually terminated.

Depends on the extent of the injury I guess - and what the contractual agreement was.

Normally if you keep the receipt you can return within 14 days; not sure if that applies if you've broken the item yourself though.
