I think Portsmouth (H) in the Trophy two seasons ago got pushed back a week because Portsmouth (H) in the league had been delayed a few days because of the way the festive fixtures worked out, so you'd think league games would take priority.
You'd think they could re-arrange the Bolton game to Tues 12 Dec but then postpone it again until new year if either side has a replay in the FA Cup.

Last season we played Wycombe away midweek at the end of October, then Pish away then Bolton at home. Did this years fixture compiler just CTL+C CTL+V ....?

There’s one League One game tomorrow, it’s getting to the point where they need to stop scheduling fixtures for International weeks so we stop having this nonsense every time.

I like international games, but losing a United fixture sucks. I didn't want to wait after Saturday.

Yes they have got to do something different. Its either not schedule games at all in League 1 or they have got to let teams play the EFL trophy games on the international weekends with reduced squads so it free's up mid weeks. The only other way is to tighten the criteria so for call ups so its only for full internationals. Bolton at home would have been a decent crowd and atmosphere but will probably be now be in late Jan when its freezing.

I suspect L1 will join the Premier League and Championship for international breaks from next season.

I agree Daniel, the criteria to postpone a match is very loose/wide which makes it easy to postpone a game even if you're losing 1 or even 0 first team players.
Be interested to see if you are right EG as so few games are played on these international weekends it certainly makes sense to, unless they change the criteria.

I think changing the criteria for a postponement is quite difficult for L1 though. I sort of take the point about youth internationals but you'd imagine that younger players are more likely to be important to a first-team (or certainly to a first-team squad) in the lower leagues – especially if they're good enough to be called up to an international squad, regardless of their age – so it would be a disproportionate impact, especially to teams with smaller/shallower squads anyway who are more likely to be relying on loanees from higher up to make up numbers.
So few games get played these days it makes much more sense to just bin it off for international breaks. The suggestion of postponing league games and putting in EFL Trophy fixtures for these weekends with slightly loosened eligibility rules is an interesting one. Would help with fixture congestion too.

Although the international break annoys me when our game gets postponed by the other team I think this is a very good time to avoid playing Bolton. They are the in form L1 team over the last 6 games with 5 wins. Of course we drew with top of the league Portsmouth after the Cheltenham sh1t show and we tend to up our performances against better teams (outside of Cambridgeshire anyway), I think facing another promotion chasing team might be a step too far after last Saturday’s sh1t show sequel. Much better to have a break, regroup and return to action against a team around and below us.

So it is possible date to play those fixtures on international break weekends in future if necessary
