Sam Smith (not that one... or the other one) starting in the play-off semi-final first leg at Halifax.
Any advances on that?
I seem to recall Paul Carden being a surprise inclusion on his debut up at Burton. If memory serves, there hadn't been any announcement pre-match that we'd signed him (on loan).

Barry Corr in Derry's final game.
Paul Crichton being recalled from his loan to King's Lynn under Quinn after he'd been sent there because of a dust-up with fans after losing to... someone.
Speaking of Crichton, he's currently the Orlando Pride women's team's goalkeeping coach.

Was Delano starting the second leg against Halifax a surprise on the day, or widely expected?

Feel like Shaggy must've been dusted off and wheeled onto the pitch without notice at some point.
I say that now as I'm approaching 40 and realise how prematurely we age footballers, describing any who are over 34 as 'veterans' and falling over ourselves to laud any such players who can run around a bit for 90 minutes more than once a week.

Was Delano starting the second leg against Halifax a surprise on the day, or widely expected? I think that was fairly surprising. Not quite as surprising as Sam Smith in leg 1, but still.

Jimmy Spencer at Orient away, announced earlier that day, came on as Sub and scored the third in a 1-3 win.

From another angle, Jesse Joronen announced as joining on loan on Friday, refusing to be a sub in the game the next day & being immediately sent back to Fulham.

I can't remember what game(s) it was but Liam Hughes starting at right-back was a surprise.

Colin Alcide starting ANY game was a most unwelcome surprise. Ditto Jordan Slew.

Alex Revell was a surprising one. Fairly sure Beck played him while still a youth team player..
