Is Taylor the most 'used' surname in Cambridge History, or is it something really predictably boring like Smith? There was a question on football clichés or some such where they asked if you took the most frequent occuring first name and surname from all those who have played for England what would the name be? I can't remember what it was but it did make me wonder what name the 'perfect' Cambridge would have (I haven't bothered to look it up, mind). Andrew Well it is the 2nd most common surname in the UK, so I wouldn't be surprised (I should know, I am one). John, Greg, now Lyle - have we had any other notable Taylors? John Lyle Alan Bobby-Joe Greg

Talking of Smith's I could imagine Lyle shushing the NRE so it seems we have found Sam Smith's replacement

He did most theatrically and for no reason whatsoever when he was substituted during the 1-4 Wimbledon defeat.
I loathed him and his infantile gobshite on that day, and am not roused to gaiety by this 33 year old's arrival.

Shame we couldn't coax Richard Tait out of retirement to bolster our defence and sweeten this deal.

Has the ability to do what Smith did for us around this time last season. Still need a target man, but as 1st signings go I don’t think we could ask for more.

Realistically, the best 'type' of signing we could make.
Comes with the added bonus of making the crackpot Grauniad readers collectively dribble into their neckbeards and soy lattes.
Welcome to the club young man, I'm sure you will do us all proud.

JKGordan out Lyle Taylor in, is a massive upgrade. Also a massive upgrade in wage costs.

Buzzing about this signing. Absolutely gutted when Bonner left, still am in fact, but have to admit that Harris is an upgrade when it comes to contacts & respect in the higher leagues. Nice to have a striker that other teams will be scared of just from looking at his name on the team sheet.

From a newspaper report on Derby v Wycombe 16th December:
'Lyle Taylor's history with Nottingham Forest meant he was always going to be singled out for special treatment regardless of the fact he has changed clubs.
And in keeping with panto season, the former Wimbledon striker played the part of the antagonist incredibly well. It all came to a head in the second half when instead of jogging to the dugout to be substituted, he embarked on a slow walk instead. That just about enraged everybody in Pride Park and when Taylor reached the visiting bench, he stopped to kiss his bicep before a Derby fan exchanged a few words with him before he sat down.'

Wycombe fans speak, err, highly of him!:
Not surprising, he has used his time there to regain fitness and hopefully we can be the beneficiary of that!

I hope the Wycombe forum comments are not correct or it could be Harris's job on the line
