Let’s just enjoy him while we’ve got him. A lot of things could happen between now and the end of the season. He’s been out of football a long time. Let him enjoy doing what he loves and has clearly missed. Worry about next season once we’ve got this one out the way.

He has a contract until the end of this season. From what I have seen and heard I think we should be signing him up for another year. Might be a struggle to keep him if he continues to impress. I'd be stunned if we can keep him - if it wasn't for his particular situation he would be far, far above our top wage level.

He will be 34 in March though and he seems to be enjoying his football here and working with NH so there is a chance he will stay. He hardly got a look in at Forest and he said in his interviews he likes playing where he feels wanted. People said the same thing about Ryan Bennett this time last year. Hopefully he stays fit scores some more goals and enjoys his time here.

Anyway, I'm here for the optimism, let's see where we are end of season.

He hardly got a look in at Forest and he said in his interviews he likes playing where he feels wanted. This marries with his career stats. Either prolific or few goals and hardly plays. He's loved by us already so that bodes well.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if we keep Lyle next year. Don't underestimate the relationship between Lyle and Neil Harris - it is why he came here from Wycombe. I think that at 34, an offer from a club where he is wanted and is beginning to be loved by the fans is a real pull, but of course it all comes down to cash. He is one who it would seemingly be worth breaking the wage structure for if he can carry on as he's started.

It’s a bit easier to retain players already here than to go out hunting for new ones. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him here next season also, along with Danny Andrew.

I've not got El Goodos contract DOSSIER to hand but Andrew must have been on more than a one year deal surely?

Never fear, Dunk will be fit by then and resume his rightful spot in the team. Or, in an alternative world, he is part of the summer of change.......

A Dunk in hand is worth 2 Haunstrups in a bush.

A Dunk in hand is worth 2 Haunstrups in a bush. I make it about 58 Haunstrups tbh.
