There's a real feeling of malaise around Carlisle at the moment, what with the dire state of their ground, crowd trouble and being virtually relegated already. We have a history of doing favours for teams on terrible runs, though, and that combined with a 'must win game' isn't leaving me with much optimism...

Cheer up folks. Carlisle have lost six in a row and haven’t kept a clean sheet in the last 25 games. What could possibly go wrong? 0-1 defeat on the cards and in the relegation zone by March, I fear.😰 You must be great fun...... Moosehacker is my mate, known him for donkey’s years, a splendid chap … but boy is he a pessimist!

Dylan can you release the thread to ELG… 😉 A come-and-get-me plea. I've got full confidence in Dylan. He has the ability and the temperament to succeed at this level of match-thread starting, and it's time for him to step up. I've no doubt this will be the first of many successful forays. Can he handle the pressure if he starts a thread and we lose 5-0. Thats why I'm bottom of FAB's charts btw

Classic League 1 encounter coming up, which United will turn up on the day. Play like we have away from home the last couple of games and we'll win. Pull an Orient or Cheltenham and it won't be pretty.
Pressure certainly on Carlisle as they will have to go for the win, so for me it will be similar to last night's setup. No disrespect to Carlisle but they don't have the players that Pompey do so confident we can pick them off on the break and get something from the game.

My first ever trip to Carlisle on (ish) my 60th birthday which means the game is guaranteed to be called off half an hour before kick off. Or we lose 5-0. Or, somehow, both.

Kentish Loving the fact we now have a CHOICE of scape goats to blame when we inevitably lose this game. That shows really good advance planning from us fans. Let’s hope the team’s planning is as good.

Lots of pressure on us too. Defeat to this season's Forest Green would start to look a little concerning on the back of that Cheltenham game.
Feels like a pretty pivotal match to me. 7-8 points this month was the target and remains so for me and this is a great opportunity.
I think I'm expecting a side closer to the one that played against Cheltenham. It feels like we might expect it to be more of a scrap than Tuesday so may choose to match up. I suspect I'd be disappointed with that selection BUT whatever side we put out should be winning.

Think there is probably more pressure on us than Carlisle. They look doomed regardless of what happens on Saturday. It might help them play without fear, but it is a no excuse game for us, we simply have to win.
How we do on Saturday could impact the Bolton game. Go in to that on the back of a win, we’re then 3 points off where we’d expected to be at the beginning of this run of games. Fail to win on Saturday makes that Cheltenham defeat look very damaging. We’d be left needing to beat Bolton and that lot up the road to make up for it.

Yeah, I think most of us were happy with a 7-8 point target so a win tomorrow would give us three more games (two at home to Bolton and Scum plus one away to out of form Chavs) to make it a very good month.
Like I say, pivotal game. I don't really care where the points come from, but it'd be nice to have them sooner rather than later.

I would leave out Cousins as he needs a rest and would be better fresh against Bolton. I would have Digby & Thomas as the 2 in midfield with Brophy, Lankester & Kai Kai behind Taylor. Lennett back in at RB rest probably the same though there's grounds to drop Rennett after recent performances. A repeat of the 3-0 a few years ago when Elito scored a hat-trick would be nice!

Yes, I’d go with that team. Gibbons done nothing wrong on Tuesday, but Bennett offers us more going forward. Without wanting to do the Okie Cokie with them, I’d bring Gibbons back for Bolton. Have a sneaky feeling Harris may start Bonne on Saturday. Not the way I’d go, but it’s a game we should create plenty of chances in, so NH may feel Taylor & Bonne is the way to go.
