Hello,
St Johnstone fan here.
Adam Webb is rumouredto be taking over our club. What are your thoughts on him? Has he been good for your club?
Thanks for Dimitar Mitov by the way. Outstanding keeper who will go on to better things than us.
Thanks in advance.
Henry

Owns 10% of CUFC.
Has put a lot of money in (notably to buy the ground back and develop the training ground). Squad budget has also increased.
Our other US investor owns 20%. They sound like decent chaps:
and definitely not short of a few quid/dollars.
Our concern would be how his St Johnstone involvement would affect his commitment to CUFC. The speculation will be that he wants a greater ability to run a show.

Thanks for the reply, Dylan.
Apparently the sale of the club is at an advanced stage and the Scottish Football Association have been notified about the sale.
Been a fair bit of American investment up here recently. The Bournemouth owner has just invested in Hibs.

I assume that will end his investment with Cambridge then if he buys St Johnstone

It seems quite the trend for investors in European clubs to have their fingers in several different pies. And we’re never going to play them in a competitive fixture so maybe he will keep some sort of financial interest in us.
I think the whole promotion/relegation model in football outside the US is getting more and more appealing to US fans and investors.

One of the main reasons we are getting more American investors in Scotland is the accessibility to European football. 3rd or 4th place and you have a good shout at European group stages in the Europa or Conference leagues and it’s a guaranteed 5 million straight away.

I would hope Mark would take over at CUFC, loves Cambridge and listening to his vision for CU have know doubt we would be in very safe hands.

Mark seems a top bloke. Has bought a house in Cambridge and loves bringing his friends and family. How much has he actually put in and prepared to put in?

Georgia-based lawyer Adam Webb's takeover of Scottish Premiership club St Johnstone has been given approval in principle by the Scottish FA. Geoff Brown is aiming to sell his 75% stake and end his near four-decade control of the Perth outfit. But, as a 10% owner of League One club Cambridge United, Webb had to pass dual-interest rules with both the SFA and the English Football League. Both governing bodies are satisfied there is no conflict of interest. www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cldd1pyyq4zo

What do you mean to say, they don't think we will meet in European competition?!

What do you mean to say, they don't think we will meet in European competition?! Obviously not. St Johnstone will never get in the Champions League…

We will meet them in the ever expanding FIFA World Club Cup in about 15 years or so.

Greeting from sunnyish Perth. Did you folk lock Adam in a cupboard on his last visit or does he maybe like a springtime digital detox? At the very last moment he appears to have gone completely off grid, which is both worrying and surprising given the apparent quality of person. Any info that's floating around down there would be appreciated. Cheers.

They're very much silent partners. Not sure either have ever given an interview bar a couple of quotes via Paul Barry (majority owner)
