Shrewsbury didn't hang about getting their retained list out did they?! I'd imagine not being 100% safe until the final day has had an impact on finalising ours. I wonder if there'll be a few surprises in there

I think all the contracted players for 24/25 have something to offer as squad players at least. I imagine we’d listen to offers for all of them though. Adam May needs regular football at a lower level on loan to find some form. I’m not Digby’s biggest fan as a player but he offers some versatility, very rarely gets injured and will be a huge positive influence in the dressing room. This will be Lankester’s last chance although maybe Monk has already made his mind up. Think there’s a chance for him to show his quality if we change our attacking style. Okedina is a valuable squad defender who maybe can get to the next step under Monk. I assume we activate Lennet’s contract extension. Hoping we see plenty of Jobe and more minutes for Hoddle, McConnell etc
I’d offer new contracts to Andrew and Mannion. I still think Stevens is a good keeper but Mannion deserves a pay rise here or somewhere else and we shouldn’t be paying a back up keeper big bucks. A good problem to have and I have no idea what will be the outcome by August. Sounds like Morrison will stay. If he can get fit then we don’t need Rennet aswell although I rate him highly. I think Monk does too. Wouldn’t be surprised if he stays.
I’d release Cousins, Kachunga, KaiKai, Haunstrup, Okenabirhie, Bonne, Taylor (see ya) and with a very heavy heart, Brophy. Our midfield has simply not produced the goods in attack and needs to provide more goals and be better at passing so this where we need to rebuild.
I hope we can do a deal with Ipswich for Ahadme but surely some other L1 clubs will be in a position to offer him or Ipswich a more enticing financial offer. Fingers crossed.
And 3 more strikers.

So when do we think the retained list will be out? I can barely hold the excitement in. Not so much for the list, but to witness the teeth gnashing and wailing on here...

Liam Moore, centre back, being released by Northampton - higher division pedigree and ate everything up when they played us a few weeks back. One I would hope we are taking a close look at, albeit he's 31 now

I'd be taking a look at Jordan Gibson at Carlisle, scored 7 goals in a terrible team and was their only good player at their place a few months back. A position we need to improve in & very much a player who can run at people

I don't think we'll be playing a 5-3-2 tbh. I think that was out of necessity for defensive solidity rather than something Monk prefers to play.
We'll see I guess.

Ex Boro striker Matty Stevens let go by FGR , got 11 last season in a basket case team and 20+ the year they got promoted to league 1...would surely be worth a look Also Harry Clifton still in ongoing talks with Grimsby... he is a proper box to box midfielder so i'd be tempted to be talking to him to also as he is Gem of a player.

Apparently a really egotistical person. Lots of Carlisle fans said he went out drinking a lot and is very lazy. Not to dissimilar to Taylor
