I just can't bring myself to want Ian Evatt to succeed at anything, so it's a pickle. Dunno what photo you've seen, but that ain't a pickle...

Next season will be super tough unless Monk has his prays answered with budgets and getting the right players as probably going to be the toughest season yet in league 1 with all the big spenders in it.

As I was watching the ups and downs from the other divisions, it did remind me that we are in the only place with four down!

I'm sure I read something about it being to keep a good turn over of clubs in league 2 when it used to be one up one down.

It also allows more upward mobility to L2 clubs with the extra promotion place.

Andrew Four up from fourth division has existed since well before then, and certainly the whole time we have been in the league. Up until 1987 the bottom four of the 92 had to apply for re-election to the league each year - from 1987 it became one up one down with the conference

Crawley v Mk postponed. Waterlogged pitch. Is this the first time a play off semi has been called off? Feels a bit tinpot.

Surprised at that; you would have thought that every effort would have been made to get the pitch ready - surely if they knew rain was likely to waterlog the pitch, covers would have been used in the vulnerable areas. Tinpottery at its best (worst?)
Can't imagine Sky are impressed.

It also allows more upward mobility to L2 clubs with the extra promotion place. It originated from the 1958 re-structure from regional divisions (Division Three North and South) to Divisions Three and Four - those clubs in D3 N&S being asked to sign up for the change only agreed on the basis that there was a better chance of promotion out of Division Four should they happen to finish just below half way in the final regionalised season than the two-up, two-down that then applied between Divisions Two and One. Then it stayed in place ever since...

Crawley Vs MK Dons ending up seeming tinpot? Who'd have seen that coming....
Anyway, much like wanting 3 up 3 down from the Conference, I really like the fact there are 4 up/down between L1/2, even if it isn't in our own personal interests now we're trying to outrun it.
I'm sure they'll find a way to take it off us (lower league sides) sooner or later.

Yeah, I'm in favour of four down. It's when it was five down I was upset 😤.
Three up three down from the conference still makes all the sense.
