Yeah it's not really worth reading much into attendance figures for the first few games.

Given the football wasn't great for most of last year, we were still increasing our gates and ST sales so I'm not sure that can be the only reason?
Holiday season clearly affected the attendance at the weekend, and lots of no show ST holders looking at the gaps in the South Stand too. I guess a clearer picture of attendances by October as Daniel says but I'm still surprised by the ST sales as I would imagine at least around 200-300 would have been free ones for the new stand.

Considering the standard of football offered for much of the last two seasons I wouldn’t say it’s too disastrous, particularly after a lack lustre transfer window thus far? I agree. There's not been much in the way of entertainment to get people excited! Saturday was probably the first game in ages the NRE didn't sell out. Be interested to see what gates like in September/October once holiday's out the way and how the team is performing. I suspect the reason the Main Stand didn't sell out was because there are 1,400+ extra seats in the South Stand now.
