PL would make life awkward for all of our 2CWs. Not all of them. Unless Farsley Celtic have an incredible turn around in fortunes...

Please can we sort out the thread title?
Also, I'd obviously love to see us at the highest level, if only to have a whistle stop tour of the oil money grounds, but as a realistic prospect, I'd be over the moon to see us as a mid table championship club one day. Like a Preston North End type club, who in recent years never seem in any real danger of going up or down. Solid.

Having taken the time to think about it I've come to the conclusion that yes, I would like to see us play in the Premier League.
It's very unrealistic any time soon so for now I'll just worry about the next five years and hopefully see us playing in front of a regular 10-12'000 people.

I’d love to see us in the Premier League. Why not? Newcastle are in it and we know we’re better than they are.

As distasteful as the Premier League, the influence of (sometimes dirty) money, VAR and all the extra bollocks that can go along with it is, what is the point in following or even being a professional football club if you’ve no desire or ambition to compete at the highest possible level?

Bournemouth are basically the same type of club as us. The only difference really is the level of investment from owners who took them into the Premier League a decade or so ago, (and have done very nicely out of Prenier League money ever since) but underneath it there is a similarly sized fan base in a City broadly similar in size. Bournemouth’s population is given at circa 195k, ours (including the bits of Cambridge which administratively are in South Cambs and not Cambridge City - Shelfords, Trumpington, Eddington, Orchard Park etc, is circa 181k. Surrounding counties give similar populations too. Our history as clubs isn’t very dissimilar up to the past twenty years either. Ipswich is a town of a similar size too. Luton isn’t much bigger than Cambridge. What I’m trying to say is that if we continue to capitalise on the huge progress our owners, Board and CEO have made over recent years, there is absolutely no reason we couldn’t find ourselves in the PL in the not too distant future. And yes, I wouldn’t mind a season or two in the PL - for all of its faults it is an incredibly watchable league from a quality perspective. It's absolutely awful to watch! Games in soulless stadia where cheating is rewarded and nobody cares about the result, which is usually a foregone conclusion and, if it isn't, everyone gets far too excited about what should be the ordinary! As for United making the American leagues, I think it would depend entirely how we got there.
