Monk’s influence is being mentioned by all the players & Jason Euell in Koreys interview. They all mention the training ground as well which will make a difference despite it being a white elephant 😉. Budget might be on the up this summer as well. Budget must be at least a third up would be my guess! (Hope it still accommodate a quality CF.) Hopefully so as that’s midfield sorted pretty much now. It may be that Digby will also be a CB cover along with Okedina. I think we need a left sided player as well but that’s 3 impressive signings over the last few days. Maybe another one will be drip thread this week!

Another good, league one quality, addition.
Desperately need a forward who can lead the attack now and we are getting there.

It's interesting that at it's core, most of the signings are still very much in the Cambridge United mould. Youngish with something to prove after a dip in form or injury, or an experienced older head. But there's certainly a huge jump in the quality of the signings, as well as doing a lot of business uncharacteristically early. I'm always a touch wary of the "final payday on the way down" types, but trust Monk knows what he's doing, and there's always Wes as the example to prove doubters wrong.
Anyway yeah, croeso Korey.

That's not Britt Assombalonga!
Another quality signing though. Business might have been slow to start, but we're definitely making a statement about our position in League 1 now.
I liked the "not the only late arrival" angle from the video, too. Very nice

well happy with this signing what a quality midfield we now have and coupled with 2 strikers with something to prove things are definitely on the up. Welcome to the mighty U's Korey

Very happy with this one, looking a cracking signing on paper. A player of great experience at a high level and played in a promotion winning side last season. I also thought he came across very well in his interview especially has he hadn’t met all of the squad yet.

Players seem to be mentioning Monk and the training ground quite a fair bit in our media videos… I may be a bit cynical, but is that a line that is being fed to them before the interview starts? After all, we made a big play about the improved training ground being a magnet for signings - perhaps it is, but it seems a little bit odd that every player mentions it, when many of them have been at clubs with far superior facilities.

I’m suprised that a mention of the new badge design was one of the reasons as well😆

Bit delayed as we catch up with the last of the summer signings (so far): introducing Korey Smith. Read what we can expect from him with views from Bristol City, Swansea and Derby fans. www.undertheabbeystand.com/p/meet-korey-smith
