The weather rarely permits. Well quite, but it shone on Brophy's debut, and that's what really matters <3

The old Exeter terrace was pretty dire. Last going off at least when it was about 3 virtually flat concrete steps.

The Hive is truly horrendous though, views may be better but the place is rancid. Shite location, shite access, meccano vibes and not to mention the local scum indiscriminately battering away fans for no reason. Wealdstone - who had the Hive stolen from them by Barnet - regularly refurbish the away end.

Southend - an open-to-the-elements urinal where I got snow on my johnson whilst passing a couple of pints of best bitter... It wouldn't settle on a real man.

Canvey Island and Farsley Celtic took some beating. The latter is still the only place I've ever been where I've asked where I could get a cup of tea and was told "outside the ground"...

Quite, dear boy. I remember the Baaarnet fans setting fire to the Elmslie End's wooden terrace & WHam spending an entire 'friendly' chasing everyone around the ground. Around & around we went in exhausting perpetuity as if it were the Benny Hill show. Great days. The Club was then betrayed by a baxtad-fecker property-developer & then scabby Watford who bankrupted them over an implausible ground-sharing deal.
After 20 years of nomadic misery, they bought Ruislip Manor's ground. It's is a cobbled-together mess of shipping containers, scaffolding stands, a WWI gun turret & portable metal terracing. But the fans made it by themselves as an act of loving labour, & it's theirs.
