Don't think I've seen the words 'After the Lord Mayor's show' in this thread yet.
We really must win this.

The warning signs are there. Burton have lost 7 on the bounce, got the worst defensive record bar Pish (!), bottom of the table and sacked the manager. A U's draw or defeat would be totally unacceptable after the last two games. A win and Monk stays. But it is a must-win. No excuses.

Monk stays regardless after the last 2 results, though a loss would be massively disappointing. So would a draw but not the end of the world. If we can reproduce our form from the last 5 games through the rest of the season then we (probably) stay up with 49 points.

Indeed - if he was safe at 1 point from 9 games there’s not a chance he goes after two impressive wins (and performances) in the last three. It is a game we *should* be winning however - hopefully the confidence and momentum built over the last week negates the tiredness.

Hoping Korey Smith is not injured, a vital cog in the recent successes and I don't just mean the goals. Would be just our luck to lose him as the tide turns.

I don't recall Smith ever talking about Gardner's availability.

Surely Gardner must be almost ready for selection now ? He was at the Wigan game and said he hoped to be back in November - is hoping to begin full training again. Glenn Mcconnell was also in the away end at Stevenage and my son spoke to him. He is training again after injury also.
