No surprises here, it looks like big Brian will be the next to leave. I was meeting on of my team this morning at the Marriot in Waltham Abbey and who happens to be on the table to us. A tanned, porky Mr Ling and big Brian; openly talking through the details of a contract put to him. From what I could ear wig Saah seemed happy with the contract but was not sure about moving his family to Torquay, however, sounded like some sort of accommodation was included as Mr Ling was trying to sell him on how nice the house and area was. No surprises really and let’s hope that will be another high earner off the books and free up another space in Jez’s lean, mean and young new squad.

You forgot to mention Fez, Ballare or the friend who heard it and told you in the quiet confines of a local boozer.
Otherwise, lovely stuff.

Assuming you're not telling porkies, then good luck to him. I can't help but feel that he could do better than Torquay though...

You're clearly lying. We all know that transfer dealings are dealt with in Fez EDIT: Up yours, Dozzer

But yeah that doesn't come as a surprise. I agree that he could probably do better than a tiny club in a crappy Southern outpost but there we go...

True or not, it would be the least surprising transfer of the summer.

I was surprised myself as thought I recognised Brian. Then Lingy walked in larger than life and looking like Tango man. I was indeed suprised to see this going on in the middle of busy hotel bar, however, it is nowhere near Torquay and a distance from Cambridge.
Although, trying not to be busted ear wigging their conversation I was surprised to hear the whole bit about a house etc..Saying that having just read the Midson article it would seem a lot of clubs offer some sort of relocation. You would think that Broan might have a few offers to consider...Torquay is a bloody long way away!

Was there an agent involved in all of this? if not then well done BBB for negotiating your own deal. All agents are parasites etc etc.

No there was only the two of them and it looked very casual. I'm reading between the lines but it looks like they may well have had a few rounds of talks before. They were there for an hour maximum. The guy in my team said it's a frequent place for footballer', managers, agents etc... It's right at the top of the M25 so easy for anyone travelling anywhere in London.

Platt's back from Thailand so I suspect we have some news about his future in the next couple of weeks

Totally agree with the frequency of discussions held in that hotel, I've used it for meetings in the past as well. Lots of Prem League clubs use it for overnights before games in North London particularly. You often see journos etc hanging around there on pre-match days when teams arrive in as well.
