The "Let's have a good laugh at Pish" thread
ermmm. people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
As much as I hate Boro, I bet they're laughing at us more than we are at them at this point in time unfortunately.

You beat me to it. A bit rich at the moment I'd say. I'd love to say with confidence that we'll meet again by 2020 BUT.....

Exactly. I can't help but chuckle whenever I see they were beaten, but it's been getting less enjoyable lately. Then I'm reminded that they were beaten by the mighty Barnet last night, and can't help but think that other L2 sides are capable of causing cup upsets, unlike us. Newport won at Southend and Cheltenham beat Oxford after ET. Now unless I'm mistaken, Barnet, Newport and Cheltenham aren't that good, while otoh Southend, Pish and Oxford are on a par with Bristol Rovers.

You beat me to it. A bit rich at the moment I'd say. I'd love to say with confidence that we'll meet again by 2020 BUT..... They are more than fair game, don't worry about that - however "far" we fell (even in the darkest of hours in the conference...) I never wanted to swop places with them, a toxic club built on foundations of sand and money "acquired" by their illustrious Chairman from the retirement savings of OAP's - there is a reason that creature travels everywhere with a bodyguard, and it's not to stop people asking for his autograph. Their road to recent "success" was paved with the broken dreams of old and vulnerable people. What we are building here at United, however much we may have stagnated on the pitch in recent times, is being done through hard graft, through building a solid foundation financially and embedding ourselves in the local community, via the fantastic work of the Community Trust. We aren't throwing money at things. We aren't putting our future at risk, we are evolving organically and sustainably. When we do experience success, and it's simply a case of when not if, we will be able to enjoy it in the knowledge it wasn't just as a result of some ego driven lunatic writing a blank cheque and plunging the club into massive debt... P*sh always have been and very much still are an absolute laughing stock, such delusions of grandeur from a Club who have spent most of their league history in the bowels of the football league. Classless, arrogant and without question heading for an almighty fall when the Chairman throws his play thing out the pram... United forever - doing it the right way. Will

Will Will, your enthusiasm and optimism are nothing but endearing but I do find this PUFC-bashing on here tedious and childish. But that never stopped anyone on here, did it! Don't worry, I used to question my motivation sometimes delivering SSI leaflets with the kids on a Sunday in the dark corners of Bar Hill, Chesterton and Milton. But as you articulately wax above, United In Endeavour is normally the best way. I'll save my pisstaking for that lot when we thrash them in a League match at Lon don Rd(preferably) and, maintaining your spirit of optimism, much sooner rather than later. Woe betide they crash and burn before we play them, mind. Nobody wants an extinct rival.

Fair play, those MILLION free SSI invitations saw over 20k people re-engage with our club over a five year period - as you say was very much a case of United in Endeavour as hundreds of fans deliverd them, each one a seed sown for the future of our club, at the bleakest of times.
I don't wish death on Posh far from it, when we do play them again (in a real fixture) and remind them who is the pride of Cambridgeshire it shall be a day to behold no question - just a matter of time...
Bring on the Carlisle and let the season begin!
United Forever

Up the U's, keep the faith, Col You mean that we have a meaningless game with them in November which will effectively be a reserve fixture approved by CFU and the like. Please don't try and big it up as the real deal. #BTeamBoycott

I do wish I had it in me to look forward to the game in November - but after welcoming thier press to the game I shall be heading home, with a heavy heart, but cannot support my team in good faith in a competition which undermines the very essence of competitive football in this country.
We will play them again - we have waited 15 years so can wait a few more to play them in an actual game, not this b team monstrosity of a competitoon

Will it be a two hander between Johnson and Overland or will each frequency have their own commentaries? Perhaps someone will let me know as I'm unlikely to bother to tune in myself.

Pish are inbred vermin from the grim north of Cambridgeshire.
They can go fcuk themselves as far as I'm concerned, and after 30 years my views on them will never change.
