One of those happy seasons where you knew we were onto something special from the opening game. Andrew Cunnington cunningly cunting Halifax was glorious.

Five years. Wow. And a decade since Rendell Day too. Time flys. Flys, Jerry? Whoops! ‘Flies’!

How I wished you had corrected that to 'files'.

The noise at the Abbey was so intense that day I didn't realise I hadn't turned the tannoy music off at half-time because I couldn't hear it (some might say that's a blessing!) It was almost 5 minutes in to the 2nd half before someone pointed it out to me. A good day to be a U.

I remember that day. RM under pressure. A poor run of form and a dismal away leg away at Halifax. Things were looking bleak. Would we fail in the play offs once again?
Delano himself had been written off by many. There were rumblings through the main stand that he was ‘not good enough’. Perhaps in hindsight they were proven to be right.
But he stepped up when it mattered. King Sam of Yorke. He got us to Wembley. A bonafide Abbey legend.

Must be something in the air, watching that footage - I saw an episode of Minder last night on Britbox and it included a throwaway remark by Terry that Fulham had been "criminal" selling Money to Liverpool.

I wonder where we would be now without it? I kind of think our amberbition and professionalism over the last 10 years would have much the same outcome but who knows(?), we wouldn't have been the first club to falter on busted amberbitions.
Whatever, what a decade 💛♥️. Here's to the next one. I'm not even sure what I should anticipate of us in 2034.
