Absolutely no loss by the sounds of it.
Good riddance.

Delighted he's gone. I can't actually fathom how he survived the AGM.

I’d be really careful in commenting negatively on this without reading some of the publicly available background. It could be argued that the HP/Autonomy acquisition was a classic case of ‘buyer beware’- wah wah wah, we wanted it and paid far too much, wah wah wah, so we’ll go to the US court system and see what we can get to cover our backsides........ Perhaps. Although another word for wilfully misrepresenting the value of something is fraud. Which is what the bossman was convicted of in the USA. You perhaps have a point regarding the US court system, but its still notoriously difficult to prosecute individuals over there for financial stuff, as it is here.Remember the endless extraditions argued for in US courts which our judiciary and various Home Secretaries rolled over on? Has nothing to do with this case whatsoever given they tended to be for hacking NSA computers or stuff like that. Also no ones being extradited.Quite what this has to do with a very small football club apart from a bit of name association is really not clear to me. Our finance director is the subject of a formal complaint by the UKs own accountancy watchdog, for breaching "the fundamental principle of integrity by acting dishonestly and or recklessly". You keep your head in the sand if you want, but given the rarity of these cases it should be of serious concern to the fans and the club.Edit: Oh and hes gone so it doesnt matter really.

Delighted he's gone. I can't actually fathom how he survived the AGM. I’m not quite sure how he was still there to attend the AGM as he should have gone the minute the figures were released on his watch. Instead we had to listen to his slimy bullshit for 3 hours.

I have a few immediate thoughts -
One is that United have been..I dunno...a bit pathetic on this. I'd like to think this departure isn't linked to the latest news and that he'd have been gone for screwing up OUR finances anyway, but who knows, I'm not convinced we were motivated to do anything. You would have thought if he was going to go by our hand he would have gone AS SOON AS our accounts were known - which was well before the AGM - but instead it's been made to look as though it's his decision because he's potentially in a tonne of trouble from something else. All of which leads me onto point 2 and 3...
...the statement said 'Business planning is advanced' which is great, but sadly if it was done using unsustainable or elastic aims, as it seemed to be last season, then it's garbage and needs to be rewritten. When a business has just made huge losses it needs to rethink it's strategy and asking a guy who has been a massive part of those losses to write that for you doesn't seem sensible to me.
Also - an audit is still essential IMO. Firstly to find out if anyone involved in our losses is guilty of anything more than just stupidity and incompetence (which I doubt but wouldn't be confident enough to rule out). Secondly to help us learn from our mistakes which judging from the losses made over the last 3-4 years is something we have trouble doing.
Also also...the cynical part of my mind is taking a wander into some dark areas and wonndering why a former director is getting in touch with Gary Harwo*d and wondering in what way it's linked to United. I assume there is a link as Harwo*d saw fit to mention the interaction on here. Maybe it's nothing...I should probably stop overthinking these things I guess.
Finally also, this is a very good news day isn't it.

It is a worry that the F D resigns on the first day of the new financial year. Another bad years figures on the horizon . The guy did not seem to have a clue at the AGM. Come back Nick Pom . Saved us before and help needed urgently

"The Financial Reporting Council alleges former Autonomy finance chiefs Sushovan Hussain and Stephen Chamberlain acted dishonestly or recklessly" - this is exactly the kind of person we do not need around our football club. Glad he's gone.

As an aside i see the China project has appointed another director in the form of a lawyer at Greenberg Traurig. I supposed like all lawyers they have an interesting history, to say the least based on their wiki page!

"Steve joined Darktrace in 2016 having spent almost 4 years as Chief Financial Officer of Sepura plc, a UK-listed technology group with revenues of €200 million. Prior to that Steve spent 7 years as VP Finance at Autonomy" If this is true at best it's embarrassing for the club. I think the sensible thing to do would be to resign Steve Chamberlain now been charged in the States in connection with the HP/ Autonomy case .

His trial in the US has now started …. shame he couldn’t have been prosecuted here too for messing up United’s finances and turning a profit into a big loss at the drop of a hat. www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68599243
