Haven’t had a cricket thread for a while but what amazing scenes at at Headingley today. England still have a lot of work to do with Smith back in for the Aussies, but the momentum gained from this remarkable victory could be monumental.

We(I) have got really lazy on this. Can’t put in to words yesterday’s events. I keep going over and over it again and again.
We can save save the post mortem (as at end of day three) for a bit. In reality you can’t win many Test matches with one bloke alone. Six or seven have to contribute as well.

I’ve now watched the highlights online, on sky, channel 5 and listened to TMS as it happened. Incredible stuff.
Imagine not liking sport.

Anyone who was unconvinced after the world cup needs to give their head a wobble.

Special mention to Tim Paine who has been pure class so far , especially in post-match interviews. Note that EVERY Aussie made a point of congratulating Stokes at the end of that incredible innings - would that have been the case under Smith & Warner a couple of years ago? Respect.

Aye, whether you like it or not, the Aussies are not such heinous cretins as they used to be.

Well we wouldn't have got twenty wickets at the Oval so perhaps better not to defer the pain(e).

I'm not entering the Boycott debate(!) but Strauss knighted? Come on. Surely you have to be on charity work for more than a year......
