Brilliant if we get there, horrible draw means we should exit bravely and very few supporters will have to wrestle with their consciences about going.

Portsmouth again on Tuesday then. Seems like they put out a near full strength team tonight.

I despise the competition with a passion. The premise of the tournament in it's current guise is to shoehorn "elite"? teams academies into the pyramid & give Pep & the PL suits what they want. Anyone & I mean anyone who attend games in this most toxic of competition would have no complaint when their team is starting a future season against Palace U21s. Our clubs may meet soon in said competition but I can guarantee my non attendance just as I could if we got to Wembley. As far as I'm concerned the Pizza Cup doesn't exist.

I agree Brad. However, I want my team to win every game and the prize money is decent. Our manager’s job is to win every game. I however will not be attending either but willing the team on from home.

I think the exertions of today will see a much changed and weakened side play on Tuesday, which will see us bow out of the competition.

I think we'd play a weakened side regardless, tbh.
It's another great opportunity for the youngsters, and with an already injury depleted side I hope we play as many as we can.
Must have been a great experience for the young lads on the bench today. What an occasion to soak in.

I guess it depends why we were so weak on the bench today. Presumably it was COVID? We might have some players coming out of isolation before Tuesday. Of course Smith is likely to play too. I think it’ll be a changed side but one that is still strong. Bonner knows financially this cup is valuable even if it’s not popular with supporters.
Plus Pompey may play a weakened side as well remember. With 11 against 11, we can beat them. They are not a good side.

We don't have enough bodies to play a weakened side and know what every player from today will want to play. No pro wants to be rested especially when the buzz is like it is.

I would expect to see Bennett and Lankester for sure. Maybe Yearn at some point though possibly not from the start. No surprise if Smith and Knibbs play. O'Neil could probably do with 40-60 minutes. Not sure what other changes we could expect.
Not sure where KML was today but if he's available he'd play. Weir too, but I'm guessing both are injured.
Simper would usually play but I think he's still with concord?. Who else have we got..? We're pretty light on numbers with the young players on loan and the injuries to five or so regulars. Even so, it will be 'weaker' than today I'd imagine.
Might be a very young looking bench.

I just love this forum....talking about the Pizza Trophy on the night of surely one of our best ever FA shocks....it's both glorious and beautiful.

I'd like to see us field a team of children. With Bonner in charge they'll still probably win 3-0.

If Premier League first teams can't beat us then why should clubs like ours be lowered to the level of Premier League Under 23s?

MB said in his interview with Doug Shulman which I caught up on this morning, that we will have to start to prioritise competitions due to the amount of fixtures. I got the impression this means that we will feel as many kids as possible on Tuesday along with those needing minutes such as O'Neil, Lankester.

Yeah it'll be much-changed but given our general squad depth + injuries/Covid, it's not going to the most second of second strings because we don't have the numbers. If they're available, I'd expect KML, Bennett, Weir, O'Neil, Lankester, Worman, Knibbs and Smith all to start. Possibly even Yearn too.
