We need to extend Bennett's contract ASAP. I thought he was immense last night. Gobsmacked by his performance actually. He going to go very very far if he keeps playing like that.

Yeah I’m surprised a deal hasn’t been sorted ( it may well have but not published yet) but we should be offering him a 3 year deal and slowly increase his playing time.
His loans should be to a conference side as a minimum really.

He's something really special if last nights game is representative of how he usually plays.

I'm struggling to remember a full back we've had in recent years who was so willing to cut back and cross the ball with their weak foot as Liam was last night. A real pleasure to watch and actually thought he grew into the game more and more.
Just looked at the article from when he signed and it mentions that it's a one year deal with a one year option so at the worst I'd expect the club to activate that clause

Surprised Colchester released him at the age of 16. Maybe due to his size but he still has growing to do and height hasn’t affected some of the best fullbacks in the game.

I can't think of a young player making such a big impression after one of his first senior games, maybe Berry? He's got everything. Very exciting prospect. And glad we've got the option to extend his contract by a year.
Not sure how much he'll start given Williams is excellent. But would be interested to see what he'd do as a right winger when we're waiting for Shilow to return.

Billy Beall maybe? I remember big praise on his shoulders when he broke through.
I guess the likes of Granville and Craddock made pretty big early impressions too. As did Guttridge.

Gary Rowett made a good impact too. Liam Bennett definitely looks like he could do a good job for us.
