Haha well I'm glad Andrew's legacy is living on in that respect as it's a huge labour of love. A Habbin legend was Andrew. I still look right up the back where he always stood half expecting to see him. Always had a ready smile.

One of your missing starts will certainly be the Absolute Sports Travel Cup. Now before anyone blows a gasket and says "that's only a pre-season friendly" well so were CPC games in the 2000's but they still count. Believe me I get the argument but there has to be a set criteria to work from otherwise we all end up with different figures. None of my figures have CPC etc, so most must have a higher total. Same goes with the old Shipp Cup, Anglo-Scottish Cup and the Willhire Cup.

I might be a traditionalist, but the only games I think that should count are official first team competitive fixtures; nothing in pre season. So, League, FA Cup, League Cup, FA Trophy, JPT (or whatever its called these days) and in the old days when we treated it as an 'official first team match', the Cambs Invitational Cup

Opinions shouldn't be involved in stats Opinion or fact? Article from when the changes were first made. "New rules mean the competition isn’t recognised as a first-team game... When Premier League and Championship clubs were admitted to the competition for this season, the FA decreed that the games were not classed as first-team fixtures at the insistence of the 16 invited clubs – and instead be classed as reserve team fixtures". www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/14709428.new-checkatrade-trophy-rules-add-bizarre-nature-competition/

Dunk was lovely on the UTAS interview. Nothing particularly revealing it was just nice to hear him so relaxed talking about his time with United. Long may it continue.
Him describing Roberto Mancini as 'the really good looking one' made me laugh, and something about him referring to the Abbey as 'the Abbey' really touched me. Couldn't really say why.
Anyway, love him 🥰

At this point I have to let go of my juvenile affinity for Dave Kitson and officially anoint Harrison Dunk as my favourite Cambridge United player of all time.

I spoke to Harrison for the book and have uploaded the interview (complete with mediocre to terrible sound quality) to Soundcloud for anyone who wants to hear him discuss his all-time Cambridge XI: soundcloud.com/cambridge_uni1/harrison-dunkwav

My love of players has changed over the years. The first players I adored, the likes of David Crown, Peter Butler, Wolfie Smith, Dion, Shaggy, Stevie Claridge etc etc were in my youth and were heroes to me.
Then came my twenties and thirties. I was the same age, or older, than players like Martin Butler, Bruno, Big Dave and my love for them became more like the love of my peers.
...and then I hit my 40's and now my love of most players feels more paternal, I think. I'm enjoying this phase of support a great deal.

Probably. I mean, the audio quality is all over the place but there's so much there that will otherwise probably never see the light of day.
