Are you trying to say that a 26 year old professional, with a track record at L1 and in the Scottish Prem won't get picked up by another club because of a recurrence of a muscle injury? I think that's highly unlikely. Yes, he does need to ensure that his rehab this time is effective, but no reason to believe if he dopes that that he would be as big a risk to a club as if he were recovering form an injury that required surgery. He'd be able to get a club but he'd almost certainly have to drop down a league or two. He averages only 14 games a season, and has had fitness issues for the last year and a half at the very least. Alot of players continue on with that record and keep trying but alot of players have also ended up giving up completely. It must be very demoralising for him.

I think that's highly unlikely. Yes, he does need to ensure that his rehab this time is effective, but no reason to believe if he dopes that that he would be as big a risk to a club as if he were recovering form an injury that required surgery. His track record in the Scottish Prem was getting relegated and he's played 22 league games since. So yeah, I'm suggesting he might not get a full time professional contract again, if this injury ruins his season this time around. Ben Worman has played 28 games in League One, scored one of the best goals I've ever seen, and looks like he can't get a deal. I'm not saying this is definitely going to happen to Haunstrup, but I am saying it might. Hence it's "career threatening". Personally, I hope he can come back quickly, get back into the side and re-establish himself as a quality player in this league, as part of a title winning side. I'd love nothing more. But the reality of another year ruined by injury is, in my opinion, a threat to his professional career.

Brandon's biggest achievement whilst being at united is to have 6 pages of commentary on this message board. Impressive.
Looking forward to seeing the back of him in the summer. Although I hope he takes care as he leaves. I could see him injuring himself on the way out.

Whilst it's been incredibly frustrating for us, I'm pretty sure it's more so for him given the impact its had on an already short career. I won't be sad to see him leave but I'll certainly wish him well for the future.

No. If you're going to spend most of your career injured you shouldn't have bothered going into football in the first place.

Was one of the poor signings of the Summer of 22 that unfortunately nearly cost us Lg1 status. Would be interesting if MB could discuss his transfer decisions over the last 2 years on one of his podcast appearances... Can see BH unfortunately probably dropping into the National League unless a Lg2 takes a chance on him.

Like it was a conscious choice ffs It was. Hope you read that comment tmw morning and realise what a fuckwit comment it was. Sure it hasn’t worked out for him and us but how can you dismiss a player and a person like that? By and large I read your posts but that was just ….stupid. The thing I’ve loved about supporting United (51 years since my dad took me to the non match in 1973) was that this was a real club that looked after the people involved …the players, the staff, the fans. Despite all of the ups and downs over the last 50 odd years I’d like to believe that we’re a club that still cares. I hope so and I hope other players will come to believe it too.
