Or Norris. Interesting looking at that list in the other thread of the 44 signings Derry has made only 2 have come from non league (Brown and Lewis). The rest have all come from clubs at our level and above. Which fits in with his style of play; don't take risks. Without any stats to back this up, Ling only seemed to sign firmer FL players, blokes on their way down rather than youngsters on their way up

He wasn’t terrible when he played for Southend. Then I can't explain what happened when he put on a United shirt, as he was dreadful. He's not a target man yet was being asked to play up top by himself in a 4-5-1 – that's your answer.

Which is exactly what happened with Williamson Yep. Except he was also played out wide, which similarly didn't suit him. Never liked the way the prevailing narrative has gone regarding him. Always seemed extremely unfair, and I personally feel it's more accurate to write him and Pigott off as victims of a system that didn't suit them and unsympathetic man management rather than them being "rubbish"

Pretty sure it was sheffield in goal for us Andrew but yeah that was as angry as I can ever recall leaving a match - thought Atkins was going to do Gurnham some serious damage at the final whistle can remember him running over and stewards having to keep him away. Will Definitely John Vaughan who played on with double vision IIRC

His lack of general forward play intelligence was right down there with Slew. He couldn't even do the absolute basics right at a proper professional level. Utterly dreadful, and bordering on embarrassing at times.

Coulson and Taft both at the game today. Sorry, I still find it quite hard reading Coulson's name in a thread about ex players!

By some strange quirk, Piglet is in line for a move to AFC Wimbledon with a fee involved!
