You can now pay for your petrol at the pump by card You can now self checkout at the supermarket And now :- www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/cambridge-news/first-uk-trial-driverless-shuttle-21115278I noticed the last time that I went to the supermarket there was only one till open, but the self checkout was almost full with people. Self checkout can of course save you time, but do these people think or worry that this is all costing jobs All these things above are costing jobs Where will we be in 10 years time ?

Who knows. It's not the first time certain jobs or skills have disappeared though and the job market has bounced back before, right?
I guess that takes care and competence in government though so we could well be f*cked. Fortunately the planet is burning up at such a rate that we'll all be dead before we have to worry about it. There's always a silver lining.

It does worry me that lower-skilled or entry level jobs will slowly disappear. I also worry about people’s mental health. There are a lot of new jobs being created but how much fulfilment do they bring? Most of them are also sedentary which brings further health problems.
I’m in two minds about the whole thing. Do you artificially keep jobs to benefit society or do you let society adapt? Ultimately if the masses suffer mass unemployment due to lack of skills, there’ll be an uprising and those at the top will be forced to change things.

I think society tries to adapt, as it always does.
I like to think as more and more jobs are 'lost' to technology the answer is a universal credit scheme and much more leisure time for all while the robots do our jobs and plot their revolution. I suspect it will just be more profits for the already insanely rich though and then the robots will kill us all anyway.

In 10 years time there will be no brand new diesel, LPG or petrol vehicles on the roads. I wonder if electric cars will also be on the wane too as we move instead to hydrogen fueled vehicles. Commuting will hopefully become a thing of the past for many as everyone who can works from home.
Likely most purchases will be by face or retinal recognition by 2031 but I'm sure cash will still be used. We may well be microchipped too to help us interface with things. No more hard drive storage as everything will be in the cloud for us to interface with wherever we are via our microchip implant.
Hopefully a world where we are making serious moves forward in putting the planet first and eliminating poverty. Oh and world peace.
