They are abominations no other word for it. Thankfully the proper kit is a lot better.

They are abominations no other word for it. Thankfully the proper kit is a lot better. First sight in person yesterday. The design is good. Like the white detail on the socks. The colour is Wolves old gold as far as I can see. It's not as orange as I thought it would be but is still too dark compared to what our correct colour should be. All IMVHO.

I know it’s a weird time to dig this thread today of all days but here goes.
Should we have made our goalkeepers kit bright fluorescent pink or yellow etc? Lincoln keeper was bright pink and another recent game at home (Pompey or Barnsley) their keeper was pink. Maybe even the Port vale keeper too.
Those bright kits stand out a mile and must make the keeper look bigger than he is. If you’re a striker bearing down on goal and you see this big blob of bright pink ahead of you, it might just make you a bit more hesitant and give the keeper more of a chance of making the save. Our keeper top almost blends into the background from a distance especially against the NRE. In this day of marginal gains and kit design down to the nth degree, I thought something like this would have been more common amongst teams.

The theory on goalkeeper shirts is apparently two fold. One, as you say, bright colours make a goalie seem larger and more intimidating. The downside is the attacking player will always be able to see where the goalie is, even out of the corner of his eye. Duller colours bring a bit more camouflage and can 'hide' the keepers position.
I suspect its much of a muchness in terms of gains really, particularly when you have a team that can't score with a banjo and seems happy to puke up silly goals at the other end.

Andrew Statistics show that green is the most advantageous goalkeeper jersey colour. Red is the most advantageous outfield player jersey colour. This is the only reason I favour it for our away strip.

Yes we always seem to get beaten by teams playing in variations of red and white (Exeter, Stevenage, Barnsley, Sunderland plus many more) ?

More clubs play in red (and white) than any other colour though, so picking out the cause and effect isn't easy to do.

Indeed, also the biggest teams in the country do so I'm not sure there's much (Barry) correlation between shirt colour and success but rather it's having the most money and success.

I've been wanting a red away kit for years. I think we had a red goalie top once and it looked great with the badge.
