Yup you can gamble on maybe one player but to hope him, O'Neil & Taylor could last the seasonn was a massive error of judgement. Then you factor in the standard unexpected injuries that will always occur to others....I'm afraid all of this is on MB shoulders. Yes to be fair MB is absolutely entirely responsible for a risky signing, imagine he identified him, carried out due diligence on him, negotiated with him and signed the deal off all without any input from anybody else.

Surely all deals have to be okayed by the BOD ?

I think the risk taken by not getting a new striker in during January and signing off on the loan out for Janneh can reasonably be put at the door of MB and Strang. High risk strategy and now looking rather short sighted

How very predictable.
EDIT: I was thinking our bad luck with injuries made it predictable, not that we shouldn't have taken the risk of signing him.

Gutted for Fejiri. I'm not too disappointed we took a punt on him because he's clearly a good player with a history of scoring goals at this level so it was a risk worth taking I feel. Sometimes those gambles make a difference. Sometimes not. Sometimes you're on a clear hiding to nothing, as with Liam.
There has been no recurrence of the Achilles tendon injury that kept him out for a year at Donny either so although it feels like hamstring injuries in separate legs are possibly linked, it might not necessarily he the case. I'm not a doctor of legs so wouldn't know.
Anyway, gutted for the guy.

What a mess and completely predictable. Signing sicknotes on the hope that they will get better is a terrible strategy and one that will be a major contributing factor to us going down.

Fun reading back through this thread at how excited we all were by this signing. Many identified it as an exciting gamble but not too many people predicted he would breakdown twice so I imagine the club doctors didn't predict it either. Strange signing to make if it was easily predictable by the bloke on the terrace but not by the people who wasted five years of their life to become a physio.

Andrew With his first hamstring injury, I wondered if maybe because of his Achilles issue, he's adapted his run somehow, and thats putting more strain on other leg muscles? Like you I'm not a leg man, but if they're not linked then that's some dire luck he's having.

I'm happy to go with dire luck. Even if they're linked it's just rotten luck on the guy.

Lankester and Tracey can play up front. And someone mentioned on another thread that Worman played as part of a front three in the youth team. If we're going to play 2 up front, that's our cover.

Not many posts at the top of this thread slagging off MB for signing him.

The buck stops with the boss, that's how it works. Football is collaborative when you win and it’s collaborative when you lose. It is collaborative in good moments and in difficult moments. If you think otherwise then you need to re-educate yourself.

Not many posts at the top of this thread slagging off MB for signing him. I was excited at the prospect if he could get fit. Its a genuine shame for the lad and the club. I don't think any blame should or could be attributed to anyone given this injury is different to the last one. Its just bad luck.
