I feel that we could all appear to have a little more class if we kept our opinions to ourselves.

HM The Queen has just passed away. Very sad news indeed. It's no sadder than the 1400 other people we don't know who die every day. Many of those die much younger and in much worse health because combined, they don't have a fraction of the power of this 96-year-old.

Of course its different, whether you like to admit it or not, and this from someone who isn't a Royalist. I was saddened to here some comments at the time from some 'hoping' Boris Johnson would die when he had Covid, and this is no different regardless of political and views on the governance of the UK.

It's true, for me, that it's no sadder than anyone else who died today. For them I wish that as much as is possible they died without fear, without pain, and surrounded by as many of their loved ones as possible. I wish the same for Elizabeth.
A half time minutes silence I'm the Arsenals v Zurich game met by a few boos and whistles.

And now millions of pounds will be spent on more pomp and splendour on a woman who was lucky enough to be born into a family with immense wealth and privilege while millions of people are struggling immensely at the moment. And millions more will be spent on a coronation. Those getting their knickers in a twist, can you see the problem?
The sad thing is, many that are struggling will no doubt be mourning her passing!
I just cannot bring myself to get upset about the passing of someone who has not made one difference in my life and didnāt know of my existence.

And if anyone close to you passes thousands will be spent on that, while people shill go hungry especially In other countries. Its all relative. Or the millions spent on players wages... or the latest film or concert at the o2. Can't believe there are so many nasty people on here - Out Queen has died and the lack of respect is pretty shocking. If you don't like the royal family then say nothing. I don't bang on about stuff I don't like that doesn't affect me! A friend things the Ipswich game may be postponed... likely? I don't see why that would be the case.

It'll be one less on the payroll, and she probably shouldn't have seen Bojo and the Margaret Thatcher tribute act earlier this week, enough to make anyone feel poorly Looking forward to celebrating your grandmotherās passing too. Tw@t My grandmothers both passed away years ago. Like the queen they lived through the war, but they had hard lives and just about scraped enough to get by on. Maybe if some of taxes paid by the hard working public had been diverted to them they too would have had more comfortable lives and lived longer. Theirs were lives truly lived in service.

Interestingly it's now transpired that Johnson was never in any danger of dying from covid. He lied about how sick he really was. It's no sadder than the 1400 other people we don't know who die every day. On the contrary, I think socially-enforced mourning is rather nastier than individuals not being respectful. If you want to mourn, feel free. If that spills out into public forums, that's fine too. Can't always keep a stiff upper lip. But you have no right to police other people's responses, just as I have no right to police yours.

I wouldn't have thought so. I suspect games will be postponed on the weekend of her funeral though.

I'm on the far left of the political spectrum, but am still saddened at the death of the queen. There are many worse people on the world stage, and most of them less deserving too. Like her or loathe her, she has been part of the environment for the whole of our lives, and I think will be missed by many.
