The thing is Daniel, he was only shopping in Tesco because he couldn’t find what he wanted in Lidl. I’m sure that’s not symbolic…. Look, we're not a Tesco club any more and I'm sick of people pretending we don't belong in M&S and Waitrose with the rest of the supermarket.

I expect we're shopping in more than one supermarket.

Mind you I also remember Fine Fare, Gateway and Vivo...nothing to do with Morecambe of course or indeed transfer rumours but fun to remember.

I remember Fine Fare on Mill Road when I used to live in that area as a kid. Near Barney's I believe. Shame that it's more fun talking about this than the football atm.

I worked at that Fine Fare for a while on Friday evenings after school and Saturday mornings. I was sacked for being accident-prone. A cascade of disintegrating jam jars smashing its sticky way down the conveyor belt was a particular highlight. All for 24p an hour.

At the risk of getting booted into the Social chat don't forget Presto up the Grafton Centre. Used to pick up my ex from her shifts there in my Ford Escort Mk I. What a beast that was (the car not my ex).

I worked in finefare on two Sat mornings until two different 'foremen' told me to stack sugar in different ways, the letter swearing loudly at me. In fact they were always shouting and swearing. I soon quit. Going to the U's on Sat afternoons played a part in me quitting I have to admit. Used to go the Kinamar(?) and shop in Barney's as a youngster to.

Now that Kinema and Barney’s have been mentioned, I am thinking about Colonel Fudpuckers on Mill Road, always a favourite port of call on the way back to Cherry Hinton after a night in town.
