I fully expect our midfield two to be Digby and Cousins. In very reductive terms, he's a Liam O'Neil upgrade; a deeper midfielder who is more about distribution than the defensive work. He's also quite injury prone to keep the comparison going.
I was privy to some Wigan fans saying he had a difficult time there and always had a mistake in him, which is maybe why he's dropped down a league. Hell of a leap on him though and tons of experience at a higher level.

Feedback from my QPR supporting friend:
"Was excited when we signed him, but always injured. Looked awesome for Charlton before we got him, but then he was always injured for us."

Great signing on paper, we've plucked a bloke who's had a championship season and caught him on the way down. We did the same with Bennett and that's worked a treat.
Demands of league 1 vs the Championship are very different so hopefully a bit easier on his body and he can remain injury free. I'm sure we'll work on it as a project like we did with Lankester and I'm sure we will with Thomas.
If he remains fit i'm sure he's probably one of the first names on the team sheet. 2 strikers, 2 Wingers and another midfielder to go

We need a bigger squad so logically swap them all out and bring in 1 extra

Can't say I know much of him but on paper like others have said he looks like a very solid signing. Great experience to bring to the team.

I guess this rules out any chance of us bringing back Liam O'Neil then.... A pretty good replacement given he’s only played more than 20 league games in a season once in the last 7 seasons (126 league games over that time period compared to Liam’s 150 games)

Yeah you can’t really argue with that.
Our spine of the side looks solid now, notwithstanding the number 9 who should turn up before the season starts.

Looks like a very decent signing on paper. I would have thought this will allow Thomas to be pushed higher in the Knibbs role where he could be a massive asset offensively. We do now need another out and out striker, maybe even two, but as said by others the spine of the team now looks much stronger.

We need a bigger squad so logically swap them all out and bring in 1 extra We hardly had issues with numbers in forward positions bar perhaps a couple of weeks & that was with Fejiri injured & Janneh loaned out because of no game time - more issues with form/quality, it was CB/LB/CM where we struggled with squad depth. We've replaced Joe, so I guess it's whether we replace Smith like for like or hedge our bets across two players. I'd prefer two players who can play on the right with one of those comfortable enough through the middle & one more striker.

Still need someone who can cover for Lennett IMO as well and probably another midfielder depending on Adam May's fitness. This is where a young loanee from higher up may come in.

Sounds like he's a Ferrari signing - top of the arrange but easily broken.

I have a lot of love for Bonner and he seems to have made a real effort to learn from last year’s shortcoming in terms of squad building.
His steadfast determination not to learn from signing injury prone players does baffle me though. Kind of makes me laugh actually. Almost like he’s leaning into it. Bit of an in joke.
I appreciate that there are risks we have to take to get a certain level of quality on our budget. Think we’re starting to cross the line of too many now though.
Fejiri, Thomas, Cousins.
Wouldn’t describe Gassan as injury prone as such but even he’s come off a long lay off.
May is coming off a serious injury. Rossi had a pretty bad one.
Morro and Rennett are old. Dunk no spring chicken and has certainly had his injury difficulties in the past.
Just think we have to be careful with these next signings because you could easily see a fair few injuries in that list above.
I think Cousins sounds like a great signing IF FIT but I’m getting a bit worried of having to keep adding that caveat to signings.
I know that injuries can happen to any player, any time but some are clearly more susceptible than others.
Doesn’t matter how good someone is if they’re in the treatment room.
