There's quite a lot I don't like about it if we're giving feedback.
I don't like the shape or the harsh borders or how cluttered and messy everything looks. I think it's the straight lines and sharp point for me...badges of that basic shape (Arsenal say. Wimbledon. Port Vale. Norwich) tend to be a bit more rounded and look better to me.
I don't like 'Cambridge' and 'United' seeming to exist outside of the badge, it should more obviously be a part of the badge like it is currently and as it is in most badges (either as a ribbon or within the badge seems to work fine). I don't like the way 'C' and 'U' are angular as it already looks dated. I don't know enough about the bridge to comment. I like the book and ball being part of it but I'm not a fan of the way it's designed. The angle being so flat looks wrong to me.
I'm not sure I like the colour scheme either. I know it's 'our' colours but they're a bit...blocky. Maybe it would look better with a bit of shading, or a softer background. I don't really know.
The club do seem very excited about the potential of a new badge so I'd certainly be up for another suggestion. I do love our badge but I see the value in modernising...I don't think this one has achieved that criteria though, and I think it's lacking in imagination a little.

Fresh look at it this morning and I still don’t like it.
Can’t put my finger on it but it’s like they’ve tried to put a bit of everything that we wanted into the badge and it’s ended up with nothing quite ‘complete’. Book there but not quite obvious enough, same with the bridge and the ball too you could argue.
I voted for a more modern badge but I prefer our old one compared to this.

Hope the club have better designers working on the new Habbin stand then they did for that thing masquerading as a new club badge.

I'm a bit annoyed with myself, it's growing on me. Turrets should project above the badge for me and have 1912 in the centre.

I didn’t comment yesterday but I still think it’s awful and a downgrade on what we currently have.

Has no character, just a load of straight lines and a bit of the older badge. the sharp edges frighten me, feels like a dagger. Where has all the artistry gone these days.

Character is probably something that comes over time in fairness. Viewed for the first time our CU ball has no character but it very obviously does to those who grew up with it.
I have no other defence of the design. Also, I feel a bit for all who have put effort into the design. It must be hard hearing such negative feedback for your work.

Andrew If they had any experience of our club's fanbase I don't think they'll be remotely surprised There hasn't been a negative feedback. There have been approx. 400 comments on the club badge thread and now on this. mostly negative. The same people have made multiple comments. So that means about 250 people don't like the design, and if you care to read back the same people don't like the existing badge either!! What do they want no badge? The silent majority will win on this one.

The vocal minority (because they're the same names and faces) were here all along and not such a minority. I don't know that we should be so dismissive of their complaints even if Ben who went to Manchester and one other game thinks it's quite smart. And why are we assuming the silent majority like it? I've spoken to plenty of people outside of social media or rabid fanaticism who also think it's quite rubbish.

It would be a bit odd if people without an online presence had the polar opposite view.

No, they want a badge they like. That's been very clear in all the feedback to the club in the initial email canvassing and the majority of the comments here so I'm surprised to see that misunderstood.
What you have is the majority of a small sample size saying they dislike this proposal. It feels like you're trying to dismiss that on the assumption that anyone who hasn't said anything publicly must therefore be in favour of the badge.
I'm sure I've got that wrong because I certainly don't understand that logic. Fortunately the club are canvassing further opinion so we don't need to speculate on the opinions of anyone other than those who have already spoken about it.
