Happy with this signing, he’s a player of proven pedigree having played at a higher level. Agree with the above he looks like the knibbs replacement, And will bring a high work rate coupled with a direct style of play. Another player with league one experience that can play across the front three so I’m expecting us to try and be more fluid this season.

Having just looked @ last years fixtures, he appears to have come off the bench most games.

Tell you what, for the sake of some additional joy in the thread - the more I read about Kachunga, the more excited I am about this signing. And what a change to have a player that the previous club's fans seem to actually like. I reckon he's going to become a fan favourite.

You should like him - seems to get a lot of headers on target (do they count?)

One thing comes out of those highlights to me - find him in the box and he will score goals. Plays like a good old fashioned CF, getting across defenders and heading the ball on target. Albeit that was 7 years ago mind you!

Quality signing, very much in the Knibbs mode, but an upgrade in all respects. Welcome Elias looking forward to see you grace the Amber shirt.

People need to get a sense of reality with the type of player whom United can actually attract with the budget in which they have to deal with.
No decent level striker scoring goals going to be on the radar of United, simply because of thier budget. Elias is probably not going to figure in Bolton’s plans and so quite content of letting him go so he can get full time football and he’s not wanting to drop from L1 football, so he’s needs and United’s wants match align and so that’s how United have him.

Fantastic name 9/10 PTTPL If he turns out decent for us we can call him the Sergeant after Sergeant Elias in Platoon.

If he's German, I guess he takes the pens.

Not sure underwhelming is entirely fair. Kachunga seems to have played a lot of football, despite not scoring many goal, so it suggests his role is probably much less of a striker and more of an attacking player, very much like Knibbs. He's clearly had a good career looking at over 400 appearances for a range of big clubs, and His Majesty at Bolton clearly loved him enough to give him 50 appearances in a play-off side last season. It suggests Elias contributes, even if it isn't necessarily by putting the ball in the net. Not sure if he's chalked up many assists but I guess one of those on here may well know that. Looks a reasonable acqusition to me, and if I am not wrong our first German born player too? Michael Gash was born in Germany Was Michael Cheetham born in Germany or is my memory playing tricks. Sorry just looked him up he was born in the Netherlands, memory not what is was.
