Need both Cheltenham and Burton to pull off some big results while we also flounder. One of those things, possible. Two, unlikely. Three, surely not…? Or Vale to beat Bolton whilst we lose to Derby. Goal difference is currently 10. Honestly, I am going to have actual nightmares about the prospect of us going to Vale Park on the final day just needing to avoid a 0-4 to survive. That seems the most unlikely of the lot! Given they're only 3 off Burton it's not like they will even go to Bolton looking to win, they'd probably be happy with a point.

Cheltenham have got Lincoln at home and then Boro next Tuesday. If they get 4-6 points from then fair play to them. Hope Ferguson doesn’t rest players for that one. Burton got Reading so hopefully Smith can do us a favour or too there. We’ve got to get a point (that we should of tonight) from these 2 home games sone how

If we don't get a point or 3 from last 3 games and other sides do a miracle then we deserve to go down.

Personally it's 1 from 3 for me port vale will be off our radar by 515pm Saturday, however personally I believe Cheltenham could do a steve mcqueen special and get enough points, to get level with us 5pts by season end, however at present the game which I think is the most important this weekend is burton vs reading if s...house smith and knibbs can do us a favour they will be 3pts behind us with fleetwood away and a worse goal difference, than us -26/-21 our concern is when we play Derby and Wycombe defeats maybe OK, but goals conceded is crucial, it could come down to goal difference. Anyone else getting last day tension vibes ,yet or just me 🙄

One crumb of comfort is that Wycombe have a long journey to Carlisle at the weekend. Not much recovery time before facing us. The dinner has been served up for us, just hurry up and eat it.

I’m afraid WW’s form is very decent.
Vokes will score a brace no doubt.

I think everyone is getting massively over-anxious here...

I think everyone is getting massively over-anxious here... U’s now 33/1 for relegation - that’s a very tempting insurance bet for those who are nervous. Prediction- we stay up with a loss / draw on Saturday/Tuesday when other teams mess up.

I think everyone is getting massively over-anxious here... For what it's worth I think we'll be fine but I completely get the anxiety. This shower have consistently shown themselves to be capable of producing all levels of garbage so until we are officially over the line I'll forgive the worriers.

Mildy interestingly, Oxford play Stevenage on friday night. If Oxford fail to win, then Lincoln will go to Cheltenham on the Saturday knowing a win will put them in the last play off space knocking Oxford out.

If we had got ourselves in this position due to a positive result last night then I think people would be a lot calmer and confident about the situation. We missed an opportunity, but that’s all it is and we have 3 more goes to get it right. We could end up losing all 3 and still survive. Not something I want to test out, but it actually wouldn’t surprise me.

I caught Mark Bonner on 5Live on the way back last night. The other presenters all seemed certain we're safe, Mark pointed out that we wouldn't feel safe yet but seemed to agree with their view that we are.
Despite their win I think I'm more worried about Burton and Port Vale both catching us than Cheltenham. Bolton are apparently very much "on the beach", so Port Vale winning that as a one off doesn't sound completely outside the realms of possibility. Burton beating at least 1 of Reading or Fleetwood wouldn't be unexpected. If we pick nothing up from our 2 home games, that would leave us needing a point at Port Vale (or some very tight goal differences).
That said, I think 1 point should be enough. It takes Port Vale out the equation entirely and would mean Cheltenham need at least 6 points plus goal difference from Lincoln, Peterborough and Stevenage.

Whoever's in charge of Bolton's holiday planning needs a long hard look at themselves in that case. They still had/have got a pretty good chance of automatic promotion. They're not on the beach, they're feeling the pressure.

Not my words, the words of Top Gear Magazine a Bolton fan elsewhere: "We're on the beach until the playoffs and Evatt sounds like a broken man."

Barnsley also have to go to Blackpool on Saturday and are stuttering. A Lincoln win could mean then a point behind going to the last day even if Oxford win. I think Lincoln will beat Cheltenham anyway. Its next Tuesday v that lot up the road that concerns me. Ferguson was talking about resting players once they were confirmed in the play offs on the radio, and they do seem to be boom or bust at the moment.
