It wouldn't be on the radar of greatest moments as such, but one of my greatest moments is the win at home to Plymouth on the first game back in the league. We'd been on the brink, and fumbled around in the conference for so long that I feared we'd be overwhelmed by the step up into big boys football. That moment of "hang on, we're going to be ok" was huge.

Wembley 1990 for me. My avatar choice reminds me of that glorious moment every day.

Well before that game at Wembley was the Maidstone game which is right up there. Those who went know. The 5-1 at Posh and the 5-1 v Bristol C weren't bad either. The 3-3 at Forest anyone?

I’m relieved that so many being mentioned as top-10 candidates are in the book!

The 2-1 win over Exeter to get promoted in 77/78 would be up there... But Gateshead at Wembley is still the most emotional I have ever been at a football game, and I suspect always will be.

The win at Maidstone to secure a place in the first ever Wembley play-off final and the celebrations afterwards has not been included. I am genuinely shocked.

Moment H, our win at Ipswich to go top of the second tier, has always what I’ve considered to be our pinnacle as a club. It was a phenomenal match away at one of the two biggest sides in our region. We won despite an onslaught from them in front of a massive away following. And we went top with games in hand.
I genuinely came away from that game thinking we could beat anyone and we were destined for promotion.

Kind of related but It's mad that in my 17 years of supporting us i've seen 7/10 of these moments (The other 3 were before I was born). We make out how hard we've got it supporting a lower league club but in my 17 years i've:
- Never seen a relegation (One year out which helps) - Seen 2 promotions - Seen us play Man Utd, Newcastle, Leeds, Wolves etc. - Seen us play at Wembley 4 times - Seen us make a few great escapes & one Greatest escape - Seen us make huge strides off the pitch as well as off it. - Seen us go from 1800 at home to a 6000 average
As far as football fans go i've had an unbelievable time of it. Can't imagine there's too many clubs in the EFL who've got that kind of situation going on.
As far as the list goes from Russ goes:
1. Newcastle - It'll never be beaten, ever 2. Aldershot - Without it we go bust 3. Gateshead - Obviously just relief

The win at Maidstone to secure a place in the first ever Wembley play-off final and the celebrations afterwards has not been included. I am genuinely shocked. I managed to invade the pitch at the final whistle at Maidstone by distracting the policewoman in front of me ("oh look over there") only to realise there were only a handful of fans on the pitch so legged it back over the advertising boards. Milked the moment and then was in *that* queue back through the Dartford tunnel. Happy days. *EDIT* Still think our greatest moment was getting elected into the League. The effort that took from the club and it's supporters back in the days of re-election cannot be underestimated. In fact nothing else listed would have happened without that achievement.

How on earth is a goal in a non-league play-off semi final (when we lost the final) worthy of any consideration? Delano trumps that one by himself.
So many missing: Maidstone Beating Posh 5-1 2 x FA Cup quarter finals First promotion against Mansfield

“I think the Stevenage option is likely to be one where people say, 'How can that be on the list? It was in the fifth division, we lost in the final and were rubbish for most of the next four or five years'... but in that moment when the ball hit the net, it was as about as good as football gets.
“If you zoom out far enough there's not a single moment that you couldn't diminish to the point of being meaningless. There's a lovely thought for a Monday.”
I can’t add much more to that earlier comment. I’ve also explained some of the factors that influenced the list. Thankfully, the book is not just 10 moments and many of the other suggestions made here will be in it. Crucially, no book or list ever has to change how any one person perceives the significance of each moment. If you don’t think a 119th-minute goal taking us to Wembley has even the slightest merit being in the top 10, there’s no need for you to reconsider! For me, as a standalone moment, with no consideration to what happened next, it’s right up there. It was pure joy, unconfined. It’s also a moment that was put forward by the majority of the panel.

Swansea at home. Champions. I still claim that my crutches were first on the pitch. Becky and the coaching staff with us in the pub that night. A truly brilliant day. But I’ve probably got ten of the top 15 which considering I’m a 2CW isn’t bad going. FGR wasn’t shabby . Forever United
