I’ve tried to verify the 2000/1000 number and I’m struggling. Yes, I should get a life. But knowing that every season bar one (37 in covid 2019-20) we played an even number of games (of course) and that Bristol Rovers will be the fourth game of this season, how does the fourth game of this season get us an even number, never mind 2000 games (which I can’t tally). I’m being thick, no doubt, but if someone could explain, I’d be grateful!

I’m 19/20 league 1 started with 23 clubs so it was and odd number of teams. I know it didn’t affect us but has this happened before?

FWIW I don’t agree that it’s our 2000 league game either with basic maths but was looking for sone odd reason why it might be 😀

The most basic of fag packet maths, 1970 - 2023, 53 years.

53-9 years in the conference = 44

44 x 46 = 2024.

Take off the truncated covid season, and years with fewer teams in leagues and it's not far off.

Though I’m half glad I’m not that age the way recent years have gone, feel like we were the last generation that experienced the highs and lows of no tech and now all the tech.
