What another great evening for the induction of another 9 legends into the Hall of Fame. A huge thank you to everyone involved in this years event, they are a real highlight of the calendar. For those not there those inducted were:
Dave Stringer (CB in the 1970's) Frank Pettit (Instrumental in running the club during and after WW2) Greg Taylor ('nuf said) John Docherty (about time - our most successful manager ever) Martin Butler Steve Claridge Brian Greenhalgh (I saw him put 4 past Darlington in our 6-0 win in 1973 or so) Alan Kimble
And the Andrew Bennet award Liz Pamplin (CUFC women's team and lots of volunteer work)
That's 6 of the Beck team now inducted. Just John Vaughan, Andy Fensome, Phil Chapple, Richard Wilkins, Michael Cheetham, Danny O'Shea, Chris Leadbitter and Colin Bailie to go now.

What a fantastic night and to meet the best Manager we ever had, JOHN DOC. Chased him down for so many years. Then told by Howard and Harwood to get rid of his 6 top wage earners as the Board had wasted our money. Just look what he did going back to his old club Brentford and then on to Millwall.
Anyway a fantastic night again, salute those that put it on again.

Also it was the home teams taking all the gate money, rather than being shared, that was the problem for United.

Would someone be good enough to name some of the players from the 60s 70s even 80s who are not named on the night. Steve Fal I know and is that Alan Biley somewhere?

Yes, would have been nice to have some names to some of the faces. Biley was definitely in one of the photos with (I hope!) his wife! I wouldn't have picked out Greenhalgh after all these years unless I knew he was an award winner, then by process of elimination!

Howard and Harwood got rid of DOC Sorry Colin but you are a long way off the truth with that statement. I did not join the Board of Directors until I sold my company in 1990. John had joined the Board a couple of years before that. In 1983 my involvement with CUFC was as a supporter and minor sponsor of the club, which gave me absolutely no influence in David Ruston's (the then Chairman) decision to part company with John Doc. I also did not know John Howard in 1983 and he also had no involvement with CUFC until years after Doc's sacking and when his support of Norwich City diminished.

Pretty sure that I saw Tom Finney there too.
